Let's Be Friends

Hiya. Scottish lady here. I'm 41 which seems ridiculously old but I feel the same inside as I've always done, I just know how to work a washing machine now.

Reading is my main passion in life but it's a solitary pastime. I'm an introvert currently unable to work due to crippling anxiety and OCD. I'm an optimist by necessity.

I like people who enjoy reading, writing, quizzing, swearing and not taking themselves too seriously. I'm not a fan of Dr Who unlike most people on here, but I don't mind if you do. However, if you post endless fanfic we probably wont have a lot to talk about.

Hello! 39 yo German introvert here – who keeps reminding herself she'll be 40 this year because she so doesn't feel like it.

I like reading, I like writing (fanfics, but they don't end up on this journal, so no worries!), not exactly quizzing but crossword puzzles (close enough?), don't swear a lot but don't flinch when I do and can have a good laugh about myself.

The only Dr. Who who interests me is the one who had only one film. And that's only due to the actor, Paul McGann. So it's unlikely I bring that one film up on my journal. LOL

There's not much on my journal here yet, stuck on the import queue from lj, but my profile is up to date. Take a peek if you like.

Interested?

I've added you. Probably because of this sentence I'm 41 which seems ridiculously old but I feel the same inside as I've always done, which is true for me as well. Also because crocheting doesn't get the love it deserves in this knitting world.
(Although I must disagree on the dDctor Who thing ;)

Hey!

I added you! You seem very nice =) Reading is my main passion as well, I could read for days! I used to like Doctor Who but I haven't watched it for a bunch of years!

You're not old, I'M old :)

I lived in Edinburgh for 6 years and loved it. I don't do fanfic. I do watch Dr Who but I'm not obsessive about it. I've added you :)

Hi Scotland lady! I'm a little further South than you (Yorkshire at present, London in my heart) but also not especially a Who fan :)

(And also, I'm 42, which feels so much older than some people online, so it's nice to see more 'mature' people around!)

As they say, you can pry the Oxford comma from my my cold, dead, and stiff hands :)

And yeah, my sense of humour is down about that level too!

Some Dean Koontz stuff scares the hell out of me - Hideaway, for instance, just freaks me out. Have you read the Odd Thomas books?

Stephen King is who I wish I could write like most. The Stand is my absolute favourite novel in the whole world.

I have a few audiobooks, but I only really get to listen to them when I'm out walking. Which I do a lot less regularly these days (Thanks, new job).

Maybe we could be friends on Dreamwidth. At the moment, my LiveJournal is being imported over to DW so i don't currently have any journal entries. I also love cats, and i have a lot of anxiety...but i may not always be as optimistic as you. I live in Canada, but my paternal great-grandmother was Scottish. I am 42 years old, so our ages are similar, and i work in a library. Let me know if you'd like to be DW friends...

Hello! I'm Allie. We have some things in common, so I've subscribed to you and granted you access to my journal.

Scotland is one of my favourite places in the world; it is magnificently beautiful. I'm going on a cruise around the British Isles in September and the ship will be stopping in Mull and in Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands - I'm excited about that! I read a crazy amount, I swear like a sailor, I love quizzes, and although I love Doctor Who, I don't post about TV stuff very often. I also don't work due to severe problems with depression and anxiety. I think you may be a Scottish version of me!

Hi! We have a few things in common (anxiety, books). I used to be a big Doctor Who fan but I don't follow it anymore, so it's not likely to come up on my journal. I mostly post about my everyday life and books I'm reading.
