Let's Be Friends
Hiya. Scottish lady here. I'm 41 which seems ridiculously old but I feel the same inside as I've always done, I just know how to work a washing machine now.
Reading is my main passion in life but it's a solitary pastime. I'm an introvert currently unable to work due to crippling anxiety and OCD. I'm an optimist by necessity.
I like people who enjoy reading, writing, quizzing, swearing and not taking themselves too seriously. I'm not a fan of Dr Who unlike most people on here, but I don't mind if you do. However, if you post endless fanfic we probably wont have a lot to talk about.

I like reading, I like writing (fanfics, but they don't end up on this journal, so no worries!), not exactly quizzing but crossword puzzles (close enough?), don't swear a lot but don't flinch when I do and can have a good laugh about myself.
The only Dr. Who who interests me is the one who had only one film. And that's only due to the actor, Paul McGann. So it's unlikely I bring that one film up on my journal. LOL
There's not much on my journal here yet, stuck on the import queue from lj, but my profile is up to date. Take a peek if you like.
Interested?

I added you! You seem very nice =) Reading is my main passion as well, I could read for days! I used to like Doctor Who but I haven't watched it for a bunch of years!

I lived in Edinburgh for 6 years and loved it. I don't do fanfic. I do watch Dr Who but I'm not obsessive about it. I've added you :)

Added you back :)

(And also, I'm 42, which feels so much older than some people online, so it's nice to see more 'mature' people around!)

I love that you have the oxford comma in your interests, it's a favourite punctuation mark of mine. (Favourite? The interrobang, of course.)
I just finished reading The Husband by Dean Koontz and whilst it was engaging it was pure cheese. I read Intensity a while ago and it SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME. It was so good.
Thanks for the add, added you back :)

And yeah, my sense of humour is down about that level too!
Some Dean Koontz stuff scares the hell out of me - Hideaway, for instance, just freaks me out. Have you read the Odd Thomas books?

The Husband and Intensity are the only Koontz books I've read. I've read quite a lot of Stephen King (though it feels like I've only just scratched the surface, the man is a machine) and thought I'd try some Koontz as he seems to be in a similar vein. I've not heard of the Odd Thomas books, I'll check them out.
I've gotten into audiobooks lately as I like to have something to listen to when I'm crocheting which I started this year and LOVE. I've been working my way through the audiobooks on youtube because free. It's nice to step out of your literary comfort zone and I've listened to a few books I might not have picked up otherwise and managed to finally get through Anna Karenina.

I have a few audiobooks, but I only really get to listen to them when I'm out walking. Which I do a lot less regularly these days (Thanks, new job).

Scotland is one of my favourite places in the world; it is magnificently beautiful. I'm going on a cruise around the British Isles in September and the ship will be stopping in Mull and in Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands - I'm excited about that! I read a crazy amount, I swear like a sailor, I love quizzes, and although I love Doctor Who, I don't post about TV stuff very often. I also don't work due to severe problems with depression and anxiety. I think you may be a Scottish version of me!
