Hello to my old-time friends, the new folx migrating over here from LJ, and anyone who's been here but is looking for new friends. I'm Emerald Em. Call me Em. And here are the basics about me.

I'm 55. I live with my wife in Rhode Island in the U.S. We moved here from Boston two years ago, just ahead of the pandemic being declared. We've been married for almost four years; our anniversary is May 26th. Yes, married relatively late. But we were both waiting to find the right person. :-)

I'm a pagan/witch, a writer by desire, an editor by trade. I'm currently writing the first draft of a memoir which has to do with my experiences in the mental health system and as a disabled queer person living almost at the poverty line. Lots to do with intersectionality. Which I talk about a lot.

I am a cis bi woman married to a trans lesbian. We are owned by a cat. (Photo above.)

I can't promise I will read everything that you write, nor comment on it, but I do those things as often as I have spoons for.

I have several favorite fandoms and I've published a few fanfics on AO3. I'm there as JessamineHughes. I read science fiction, history, and general nonfiction.

And would love to interact with people sharing some of these interests.
