Great! I'll follow you back! I'm at the very beginning of my journey with autism, but it's something I've struggled with my whole life, I just didn't have a name for it.

I'm glad you've finally got some solidarity with it! I have several friends with a similar story there, and it's always so unfortunate. Knowing what's going on, though, is the best way to begin working with it!

I agree, I can't explain how relieved I felt when my psychiatrist said 'autism' like it all slotted into place.

Yeah, it finally gives the resources necessary to cope. I was diagnosed young, thankfully, but I really don't know where I'd be if I hadn't been.

Hi, Lu, I'm Lena! I'm also interested in writing, sci-fi, started gardening a bit recently and I love animals (would love to have rats, have cats at the moment). My wife was diagnosed as autistic about three years ago, so she was your age when she got her diagnosis. So while I wouldn't be able to give you any personal insight on going through the diagnosing process, I can definitely cheerlead! Friends?

What do the abbreviations stand for?

I'm getting into nature. So much so, that I've taken to keeping count of butterflies every month by sub-breed. I counted 220 last year. And I've starting framing them if I find them dead.

I don't usually say this out in the open, but I'm autistic, too. Rock-on Auti-gal! ("auti" for autism and "aspie" or "aspergian" for Asperger's. I didn't make this up. Apparently, in some circlse, this is a "thing". LOL )

ASOUE = A Series of Unfortunate Events the children's book series.
ASOIAF = A Song of Ice and Fire, the Game of Thrones books.

That sure is a lot of butterflies! I haven't seen anywhere near that many, I barely see any at all :(

I love the Unfortunate Events series! I gave my books away when I was in my teens, but I've been thinking of slowly getting them again. I didn't like the movie (or book thirteen), but I can't judge the Netflix series as I haven't watched it.

I look for butterflies each day, and tally them up later on in my nature journal by butterfly species. Last month is usually when I see the most, which was 93 this year. O___O Everybody seems to like migrating in August.
