Name: Sarah, or Saray. :)
Age: 25.
From: England, UK.

Interests & hobbies: I greatly enjoy reading and have decided to try my hand at writing fiction, for fun. I am a fan of Pugs and this summer finally got one (a boy we called Monty) with my boyfriend. I am a MASSIVE fan of the Moomin series of books and the anime (even though the creator disliked it!) I enjoy wasting my time on Gaia Online and browsing online at high street jewelry, bags and nail varnishes that I really don't have the money for right now. lol Also, I am a MASSIVE horror fiction fan (particuarly of Edwardian and Victorian horror) and I enjoy collecting them, as well as illustrated childrens books (Richard Scarry, the Dinotopia series etc), humour (P.G. Wodehouse, Carl Hiaasen) and murder mysteries (Agatha Christie's works, Ngaio Marsh etc etc) I do read other genres but I'd say those make up the bulk of my little library. For a list of fandoms and such, well they are listed on my profile interests. :)

Looking for: Friendly, active bloggers who have at least a few similar or the same interests and likes as myself. I am looking for people who actually want to make friends and read and comment and get to know one another. Also, people who don't mind, or rather prefer, long winded entries! >w<

Anything else? A little bit more about myself;
+ I am a part-time care assistant of 3 years who is starting at a new place this coming Tuesday! I work 1 full day and 1 full night in the week, hoping (whenever the shifts become available) to be working 3 nights a week.
+ Around the beginning of the year I moved to a seaside town and my flat is 5 minutes away from the beach! :)
+ I am half English/Filipino, on my mum's side but I do not know Tagalog fluently, just conversational phrases and words.
+ I just joined Dreamwidth a few weeks ago but have been pretty good at keeping my journal updated.

Also, I have to be a downer and say that I have quite a few personal "issues"; depression and anxiety, which I take medication for. I also used to have an eating disorder and still struggle daily with low self-esteem. So far I have not written nor mentioned about these things greatly in my journal, but I can't say I won't, in the future. If these things are upsetting or triggering for you, please know that I will always put posts (or the section/s therein) mentioning these things under a cut.

Cookies to anyone who actually read all this. I hope to make friends with some of you. Thanks kindly. :)

NAME: Deidre

AGE: 27

INTERESTS & HOBBIES: I read and write too damned much. I'm going for a PhD in Literary Studies. For pleasure I read science fiction (I like me some dystopian narratives). Professionally, I read 18th-century British Literature, media theory, and the history of writing technologies. (P.S. -- Grammar and syntax make me jizz in my pants.) Professionally related, I also like to tinker around with coding.

When I'm not slaving away at my studies or teaching responsibilities, I enjoy knitting, crocheting, yoga, making to-do lists, binge watching TV shows, playing the occasional video game/board game, and cooking.

I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, among other odd and less heard of health conditions. I have to do a lot for self care/recovery.

SHOWS: Adventure Time, Archer, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

MOVIES: Cloud Atlas, The Fifth Element, Hot Fuzz, Robinhood: Men in Tights, Shaun of the Dead... Quentin Tarantino, Mel Brooks

MUSIC: Everly Brothers, Foo Fighters, Tool, Ennio Morricone, Ne-Yo, Lady GaGa

LOOKING FOR: Friendly bloggers around my age who update and comment regularly and share some of my interests. It would be nice to find friends in others who have chronic health conditions.

ANYTHING ELSE?: I love tea.

Hi :)

**Disclaimer. I have walked many paths, from Judaism as a child to Roman Catholicism later in life, to Atheism for many years, then Paganism for a decade until a few years ago. I realized that for me, Religion is the backpack I carry with me for life, it carries various tools that I find useful while floundering about. I've often changed backpacks and content when I realized that life was taking a new direction and requiring different tools. I have found a good fit as a Progressive Christian --this means I love nature, I embrace other paths and draw from them, I use intelligence and reason as underlying foundations as I seek and question. This means that the following 8 points are things that are part of my personal ethics. (for those who don't care to click the link, it includes the key point that the path i am on is understood as only ONE OF MANY SUPER AWESOME PATHS. All rivers flowing to the same ocean, etc etc. ) **

If you have read this far through, I hope it is clear that yes I consider myself a spiritual being but yes, like many thousands of other Christians (and other 'religious' folks) , I have a brain and a heart. I use them both. AND>>>> I still swear, I still sometimes drink and smoke. I love books about magic, esotericism, gardening, reading smut mags, bdsm stuff (i'm a sub at heart),and love listening to Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, System of a Down, Clutch and many others. And I totally enjoy Doctor Who, Breaking Bad and other shows. I like to grid-hop across different virtual worlds, enjoy themes such as urban decay, urban noir, retro grunge, atmospheric flotsam, and am very interested in mysticism, especially Kabbalah.

All in all I'm just your average person and the disclaimer above is because I can't count how many times I've been on some social networking something or another and people find out I'm Christian and A) tell me what a moron I am and how they thought I was 'smarter than that', or B) tell me they are Christian too and can't believe what a sinner I am in OBVIOUS need of immediate salvation.

So.. there ya go. If you're still interested in reading things that I might write, if you still think I might be an interesting person to connect with, Cool, add me. If not, its probably best for the both for us and have a good day :)
