My online name is Kalevi, and I'm here from LJ, though I want to maintain both journals. I haven't had this journal for very long, so I'm looking for some friends!

I'm 20 years old, I'm a university student in the US who's majoring in music history and applied music, and I play the bassoon and the oboe. I'm the assistant manager for my school's recital crew, and I also work at McDonald's. And I'm also a bit of a geek. :)

I usually post about my day-to-day activities, but a lot of times I'll post about music (or games or anime) that I like, or I'll rant about work, or I'll show everyone my ponderings about life.

Another thing I like is languages. I'm a native speaker of Chinese, and I'm currently trying to learn Finnish because I'm trying to go study abroad in Finland. I don't normally post entirely in a non-English language, but occasionally a good chunk of my post will be in Finnish.

Just a warning if you care about this: I'm usually pretty horrible about commenting on other peoples' posts. It doesn't mean I'm not reading them (because I do read them), but if I don't really have anything to say at the moment, I usually don't post anything.

Music history plus bassoon and oboe sounds very cool. I play in my college's Wind Ensemble for tuba so I'm subscribing. :D

I tried to teach myself Suomi in high school but couldn't keep up with my seven other subjects. I still love Finland though, and might attempt to take up the language again.
