Hello!
Hi, I am new to Dreamwidth so I am looking for some new friends!
Also posted on
addme_fandom
Age: 20+
I mostly post about:
meta about my relationship with fandom and media, my takes on characters and ships, some anecdotes from life
My hobbies & likes are:
books, reading, languages, collecting stationery and postcards, museums, musical theater, compiling lists, fonts, myths
My fandoms are:
I tend to be drawn to Japanese media.
My main ones right now are Mahoyaku (Promise of Wizard), IDOLiSH7, DCMK (Detective Conan & Magic Kaito).
Other genre I am into are danmei/BL, joseimuke (of the non-romance variety), and fantasy.
A more comprehensive list of my fandoms (past & present) can be found here!
Things I hope to get into:
- reading some IF (interactive fiction)
- reading more fantasy novels
- writing more!!!
I'm looking to meet people who:
- people who share my fannish interests
- people who like reading/writing about media (reactions, reviews, meta etc.)
- anyone up for some discussion about all kinds of media
My posting schedule tends to be: sporadic for now
When I add people, my dealbreakers are:
hate speech, (either fandom or political) discourse, being pro-censorship
Before adding me, you should know:
- I consume a lot of media in Mandarin (my first language) so I tend to write about/quote stuff that are unavailable in English
- I am still very confused about the labels (I'm really not a fan of shipping discourse) but I suppose I fit the definition of a proshipper & multi-shipper?
- I expect to keep my journal free of explicit content but I will link to NSFW stuff (fanart, fics, etc.) so I would prefer to interact with people aged 18+
I made a intro post in my journal recently and some more information can be found there!

Hi!!! I am actually not that familiar with Vocaloid but I really like the song; the reveal near the end was so heartbreaking yet it ends on such a hopeful note…
You’ve convinced me to listen to more Vocaloid songs—recently I find many Vocaloid songs on my periphery because almost most Japanese fanvids (animatics, MMD, etc.) use Vocaloid music, and some of them sound so craftfully constructed that I had to check out the original and the various covers.
Your journal looks amazing and I am particularly fascinated by the isekai post. I just subbed to you and hope to read more of your reflective post!

I watch some MMDs even without knowing the character or anime, because of the song LOL!
I'm so happy to find someone who also likes doing these types of reflective posts on media! I sometimes wonder whether people will be interested to read the ones I write, since they've probably not read or watched the piece of media I'm engaging with... but this kind of rumination is so exciting and stimulating to me and it's also the way I fangirl. Sometimes the media I love and how it makes me feel, and the fascinating things it makes me think about, are by far the most interesting and significant happenings in my life.

I’d love to know your Vocaloid recommendations!
I am happy to read about what people think about the media they consume even without knowing about the media. I think it’s often fun to think about what their interpretations relate or contrast with my experiences with my fandoms.
…and yes I agree often when I get sucked into a fandom, all I want to gush about is the overarching themes or the motifs or the narrative foils of that particular piece of media, so I’m happy to find a place where I could write about them.
I hope you don’t mind that I backread and comment on some of your past posts—they seem infinitely interesting!

Same! It gives me a contact high when people squee about media they love, and I enjoy media analysis in general.
I don't mind at all, in fact it would make me so happy! I shall go edit my intro post to mention that I'm happy to receive comments on old entries :)

Thank you for the recs! I will leave some comments as I go through your entries then (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)

I usually post about manga, anime, games, and sometimes books. I've been meaning to post more fanworks though! I'm also just getting into some danmei :D

Hello!!
I added you as well!
i checked out your intro post and i had to use this icon
Would you be open to test out being mutuals? I'd love another stationery/postcard girly on my feed!
Re: i checked out your intro post and i had to use this icon
I love Rikkai! I am particularly fond of Yukimura and Niou, though I haven't kept up with the New POT ever since the players' powers got more and more absurd.
Added you!
