Age: 30s
I mostly post about: Books I read (a lot of this), fic I've written, cute, strange, and good things I have found on the internet. Life stuff (often under private lock). Fanfiction exchanges. I'm unpredictable and you never know what I might have in store for you!
My hobbies are: I'm rediscovering hobbies after having been in school (sometimes working alongside), but some things I want to pick up again and have liked in the past are: swimming, hiking, scuba diving, doing art (I was really into printmaking 10 years ago and would like to get back into it; also drew and painted), and writing (mostly fic but some original work and poetry). I enjoy trying new things and will do almost anything once.
My fandoms are: I love Attack on Titan inordinately and I will just be upfront about that. Also, the things I read fic for in 5th grade are things I still love now! Examples: Animorphs, Pokemon, Invader Zim, Young Wizards, Tanith Lee's books, Naruto, Blade of the Immortal, Gravity Falls, The World Ends With You, D.Gray-man, and Xiaolin Showdown. I have a soft spot for the Riddick movies. I read Dungeon Meshi recently and had a great time. I am following Blue Period and loving it, and another long-running series I'm looking to get into is Witch Hat Atelier. My favorite book I've read so far this year is called Venomous Lumpsucker. :D
I'm looking to meet people who: Are kind. Other fannish types are welcome, but we needn't share fandoms if we have other things in common (if you just want to booktalk you're so welcome on my blog!). Mostly my goal is to be kind to my f-list and make it clear that I enjoy having them in my reading circle. I'll enjoy reading about your niche hobby or your life or your day! Getting to know people in very different circumstances is one of the joys of having online friends imo
My posting schedule tends to be: Sporadic; at least a few times a month (I try). I read my list more often than I post to my own journal.
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: No Republicans/convervatives/right-wingers/fash. If you harass or judge the morality of others based on their fictional tastes we should not be friends (my own journal content is pretty milquetoast and I tag my own writing pretty thoroughly but I dislike harassers on principle). While I said I try not to sweat the small stuff, I don't consider treating others respectfully to be small thing, concurrently sexism/racism/homophobia/transphobia/ablism/etc are not welcome on my blog and I try to push back on that kind of stuff in my space.
Before adding me, you should know: I have pretty strong political feelings and lean pretty left, but I don't tend to post about politics as when discussing politics with people I agree with, I end up often feeling pretty despairing haha, and when discussing politics with people I disagree with I end up angry. Also, I'm kind of shy, and if we connect I prefer that we just subscribe to each other until we see that we gel.

You sound like a really nice person & I think I'd like to get to know you better :)
A bit about me:
My name is Tina, I'm 36 years old & live in Germany. I am also left-wing politically and while I don't often post about it I understand not wanting to get into discussions with those who disagree. Also completely relate to being a shy person.
I am a huge book lover, also been wanting to get back into swimming regularly (alas, I have shamefully been lacking the motivation Dx)
and lastly, what convinced me most to ask to add you was this:
Mostly my goal is to be kind to my f-list and make it clear that I enjoy having them in my reading circle. I'll enjoy reading about your niche hobby or your life or your day! Getting to know people in very different circumstances is one of the joys of having online friends imo
I love kind people and try my best to be as kind as possible, as well.
So, want to give it a try? Just one heads-up: my last couple entries are a bit depressed since I've been going through a bit of a difficult time lately. However, most of my journal is NOT like that. If you would rather give me a pass though, no hard feelings would be had at all :)

I'm gonna be honest, my motivation hack for fitness stuff has turned out ot be group exercise classes. I often end up feeling really self-conscious weightlifting alone, and when there's 5 other people doing it I can just blend in with the herd lol. Similar thing for swimming. I'm planning to join a master's team once I get my shit together because having a coach planning the workouts and a group that meets regularly I know will help me build the habit. Also, it's not like anyone would yell at me for skipping a day, but even the mostly-made-up accountability of joining the team and needing to show up will motivate me to actually get there.
Also I have had some people on my lifejournal, then dreamwidth, friendlist for probably nearing 20 years now, and I love it, idk!! There's something really special about online journaling friendships where you're just gently in each others' space as your lives proceed. I always love it when that happens.
You're welcome to follow me and also don't worry about going through downswings or posting sad stuff on my account. Your journal is your space imo and it's your right to put what you want there, and also it's so normal to go through hard times and need to vent about them. I've been in the same place. I'll subscribe to you :D

So true!
I've added you now :)

What draws me to the franchise is probably a little bit of everything. I got into it through the anime, I saw the very first episode airing back then and Pikachu was so cute that I stuck with it and watched it and I was hooked from there on. Then I got Pokémon Blue and it made it all even better. So for me it's the Kanto region due to nostalgia but I'm always open for new regions and new games and new styles. I also absolutely adore the idea behind Pokémon GO (not the micro transactions of course tho).

I love Pokemon Go in theory but I've never really gotten into it personally. I'm a walker of my own volition I guess, so I tend to explore the area around me on foot naturally, and part of the draw of the games (for me) is getting into landscapes that are remote, beautiful, and hard to reach in the real world. I was abroad when Pokemon Go dropped and I do have fond memories of seeing many people out hanging around a train station at an unusual hour and realizing they were Pokemon Going though!

Yeah the beginnings of Pokémon GO were awesome. People were super friendly and helping each other play. I ran into a rather helpless-looking older woman who was trying to catch her first Pokémon (she said she had her daughter's phone and really wanted to see what the hype was all about, lol) and I explained how to throw a Pokéball and helped her catch her first Pokémon. She was super nice. Those were the days! I miss them. These days the playerbase is down to the die-hards, I guess.

I will admit that most of what I post these days is Visual Kei and my personal life, but I am into a few of your fandoms from the side! (Invader Zim was particularly a passion of mine some years ago.) I hope you don't mind my subscribing to you.

I'm also a big Pokemon fan. Do you play Pokemon Go?
When it comes to anime my favorite is One Piece.
I consider myself a democrat. I'm pretty left leaning! I don't post a-lot about politics.
I'll add you back, I'm Jessie!

I don't play Pokemon Go, mostly bc a big draw of the games for me is exploring these remote, gorgeous, unusual landscapes and I'm a walker of my own volition so I tend to explore the world around me on my own... also I eternally struggle with phone space heheh. I do enjoy the memes and screenshots I see of it though. Maybe someday!
I followed you back 😎

I haven't heard of the authors you listed, but I should check them out. Thanks for mentioning them. As I've gotten older I've found myself reading much more.
Yeah, it can be a bit much for a game... I do take breaks from playing it. And even when I am out in new areas I try not to focus on it too much. Because who knows if I'll be back in those new areas again to enjoy them.

Fellow Blade of the Immortal fan here, also Invader Zim was probably more formative in my youth than healthy. xD
Sadly, I still don't have a proper sticky/introduction post, but you're welcome to check out my interests on my profile page. (Also, I'm
