the fact that COVID still exists and you can still catch it
media criticism
I can't seem to work up the nerve to post about
kink
porn
other mature-content things
My hobbies are:
linguistics
video games
anime
My fandoms are:
Steven Universe
Babylon 5
anime
I'm looking to meet people who:
believe that (all)
neoliberalism is evil
trans-rights are human rights
Opposition to unjust power structures is the bare minimum
Palestinians have as much right to exist unmolested as Israelis
terrorist attacks are no excuse for war crimes
opposing an ethno-state is not the same as hating its privileged ethnicity
The Saudi Monarchy is a blight on this earth
bonus points if (any)
you're hot and available and open to a long-distance relationship
you can help me work out gender
My posting schedule tends to be: extremely sporadic
When I add people, my dealbreakers are:
Right-wing tendencies,
both-sidesism,
simping for (any of) the rich and powerful,
COVID denialism or minimising
Before adding me, you should know:
I very recently realized I'm non-binary and have just begun my journey to properly express my gender of "colorful space-wizard (not to be confused with dumb old drab Jedi)"
I'm currently working on/managing a project to translate a game from the undocumented conlang it was written in
I'm basically 40 now
I am poly, hot, and ready to explain my situation a lot
I could use a primary partner and am open to long-distance
The game in question is Platine Dispositif's comiket 87 stg so called because its actual title is in the same undocumented conlang as the rest of the game.
I used datamining to find plain-text scripts for the in-game text, and found that while it has a standard ascii representation (for ease of development) it is either not meant to be pronounced, or the mapping from glyphs to Roman letters is not concerned with phonetics.
If it's a conversion to something that maps to Japanese it makes sense if there's no pronunciation associated. Very interesting project! (Both the game and the deciphering)
It doesn't appear to map to Japanese, (word order appears to be SVO, for instance) but it does seem to form meanings by combining glyphs to form concepts and then combining these concepts to form words, much like Japanese kanji compounds do
Hi! Welcome to Dreamwidth, home to many refugees from dead, dying, or objectionable platforms.
I checked out your profile, and our interests do overlap in places. 90’s anime! (my username is actually from an 80’s anime, though) – and anime in general – with #1 of My Favorite Anime Series being Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Also, I was once a programmer and have just closed out a 47-year career in technology. I love science fiction but reading has been on hold until only recently.
My blog is mostly anime and photography – although with retirement I’m posting about more random things in my life. Could be boring. My blog is public – subscribe or not; makes no difference to me. I don’t tend to comment a lot. Too busy!
hello! i was already hooked from the 39.94 specificity at the beginning, but i'm also a linguistics nerd (though mostly the evolution of english, but also spanish / portugese, and german!), am a very casual speedrunner, and a hobbiest game dev, so its seems we have a decent amount in common, if you'd like to try out being friends? :)
Goodness, don't need to tell me about the war crimes stuff and using the "oh but ... terrorism" excuse to justify murdering ~40,000 innocent people who have nothing to do with the group they claim they're fighitng against.. and yet when you post about it on facebook you get shadow banned... grrr...

There's a small discord server for collaboration, and a google doc for recording findings.
