Age: Approaching my mid 20s... against all odds!
I mostly post about: Personal stuff, so musings about life, what I'm doing, mental health. I'm also a hobbyist writer, mostly original literary fiction, so I might post about the stuff I'm writing and the process behind it as well. My current WIPs are still very rough around the edges, however.
My hobbies are: Writing. Reading: mostly literary fiction, historical fiction, classics, but I'll read anything that interests me. Listening to music: old indie stuff, twee, new wave, Britpop, shoegaze. (My username is a reference to a song by the Magnetic Fields - so bonus points if you know the exact song!) Films, TV shows. Learning about history, languages, politics, philosophy, and similar topics. Astrology, from time to time.
My fandoms are: Not really a fandom person these days, sadly. Recently I wrote a fic for Trainspotting, and attempted to write some for the show Derry Girls... if that gives you any idea.
I'm looking to meet people who: I share interests with, as well as those who post about personal stuff. I'd also like to meet other writers, whether you write original fiction, fanfiction, or non-fiction. Age doesn't matter as long as you're over 18. Overall, just cool people who are down to interact and foster friendships.
My posting schedule tends to be: No set schedule, but I'd like to post as often as I can.
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: Conservative and right wing ideologies. Not that I get into politics a lot, but I'm pretty left-wing myself and I think that comes through with what I post regardless.

- I'm new to Dreamwidth (though I've lurked around a bit over the years) so I'm still trying to get the hang of things and finding my footing.
- While I like keeping a light-hearted atmosphere especially when interacting, I also want to have the freedom to express some not-so-positive things as a form of catharsis. The fiction I write also may deal with darker themes from time to time. They'll all be hidden under cuts of course. So just keep that in mind...
- My time zone is GMT+8/Philippine Standard Time.

A bit about me - I'm in my 40's, am pagan, I play a few instruments (bass guitar and trombone being my main ones), I love music... mostly all kinds, but what I listen to the most could be called goth rock. I also listen to a lot of jazz and a pretty fair amount of classical.
I do write, mostly ghost stories and urban fantasy. I have one book self-published on Amazon that I co-authored with my wife.
I have an almost 3 year old daughter... I have a son also, a few years older, but he died in NICU. Long story there.
Politics... I would say I'm libertarian, and still am in principle, but I don't like the far-right direction the party took in recent years. So, "small l libertarian"... or classical liberal. With that, I have some stances some associate with the right - a bit of a gun nut, free-market capitalist, that sort of thing... but not the bigotry or anti-choice stances associated with the right. Basically, "don't hurt people, don't take their stuff." I actually did run for office some few years back. I put most of my political stuff behind a cut, though.

Politically, we share the same stance re: bigotry, anti-choice... I grew up around guns because my dad is into them, so I've never been afraid of them, but regarding policy towards them I'm ambivalent. Economically, I lean more towards some form of socialism. In my case, it stems from me basically thinking that everyone should be assured a good living standard. I don't really get into it a lot, so we shouldn't butt heads, but it would also be under a cut in case I ever do.

If it helps to know, we have the same goal here, but different ways toward it. It actually took me a while to understand it myself, but there aren't a lot of people who can explain it without coming off as a jerk.
