Hi there!  I'm Shelby.  18.  Canadian.  I'm an English major entering my second year of university this fall.  I guess I'm going to be a  teacher...?  I LOVE anything and everything artistic.  I'm really interested in Psychology and languages.  I'm studying French.  I'd love to travel the world someday. (Who wouldn't, though?)  I love pretty much ALL genres of music.  I'm rather socially awkward.  I'm a perfectionist and a general over-achiever, despite being horrifically lazy at times.  Cake = Goooood.  My humour tends to be self-deprecating.  I love a good thunderstorm.  I have OCD, and, consequently, suffer from a lot of anxiety.  I can be pretty obsessive about my appearance, and I'm very into fashion.  I don't have the greatest sense of self-esteem.  I don't pass judgments, and I worry all the time about making a bad impression on others.  Life is uneventful as hell...

But this journal isn't about my daily life. I've come to DW to post my creative writing, philosophical musings, spiritual thoughts, occasional dream logues, and anything else I might need to release. My everyday journal is on LJ, where I appear to have grown too much involved in the lives of certain friends, and so it's no longer a place where I feel I can literally write anything. There are things I need to get out there, though, and I'm looking for mature friends who share my love of writing, beauty, knowledge, long pondering sessions, and flawless grammar. If you feel you fit the bill, then please leave a comment. I look forward to reading your journals and getting to know you. :)

You sound fantastic actually. I too am from LJ, just switched today. However I'm going to be posting absolutely EVERYTHING on my DW account from now on. I want it to be the one place where I can say anything I want, be it just about my day, or abstract musings, or random things I like, or global events, etc, etc, etc! I usually keep everything in my life organized and compartmentalized, so I'm using this journal as an opportunity to just be.

I am somewhat lacking in grammar at times because English isn't my first language, but in general I think my grammar is tolerable. I'm also always looking to improve it. :)

I'd love to add you. I know I don't have info up at the moment because I literally just switched over, but I think we'd really get along. Let me know if you're interested in being added. :)

Ah.. Yeah, I'm actually debating whether or not to just make this my main journal and crosspost everything to LJ, save for those entries I can't show certain people. We'll see, though.

Most of your post sounds like me. I need to get back in the habit of using this journal--my everyday journal is also on LJ, but as LJ has been happily doing things that make me want to rip its servers to pieces, I think I'll be coming here more often again--but "writing, beauty, knowledge, long pondering sessions, and flawless grammar" are all things I love. :) (Especially writing--that's mostly what I've used this journal for so far.)
