Name: soricel
Age: 41
I mostly post about:
Books I've read and which I want to appreciate/understand better (if you want a sense of the type of books I write about, here are the last five books I read: Yanis Varoufakis' Technofeudalism, Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Maureen McLane's What I'm Looking for: Selected Poems 2005-2017, Tracy K. Smith's Eternity: Selected Poems, and Didier Eribon's Returning to Reims)
Life stuff (teaching, living abroad [currently in Eastern Europe after living and working in China for a few years], trying to make friends, trying to understand/express my thoughts and feelings more clearly)
Thinky stuff (often about gender [my own, and in general], social/cultural/political phenomena I'm concerned about, etc.)
My hobbies are: Reading, writing (mostly poetry these days), making little comics, studying tarot, walking and exploring, listening to podcasts, cooking and eating vegetarian and vegan food.
My fandoms are: NA
I'm looking to meet people who: Are introspective, curious, fairly down to earth, and interested in exchanging comments once in a while. I'm especially interested in people who are from, or currently living in, countries besides the U.S. Also especially interested in reading journals about experiences/perspectives that are very different from my own.
My posting schedule tends to be: Somewhat sporadic, with occasional bursts of very frequent posting.
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: Nothing in particular...but that said, I feel like opening up journals to one another is a fairly significant thing. If I do so and either feel consistently uncomfortable with things I read in someone's journal, or which they comment on mine...or if I feel like we're not really engaging with each other's journals at all, I'll probably unfriend that person. I'd encourage/expect anyone who adds me to unfriend me if they feel similarly.

You sound like an interesting person and I would like to get to know you.
A bit about me: My name is Tina, 35 years old and I live in Germany. I also like reading, walking, podcasts and cooking & have been a vegan for close to five years now.
The contents of your journal sound very intriguing to me - as for myself, I have to admit that I haven't been posting a lot of substantial content this past month, but that's just because I have been either sick or working so I lacked energy and time to do so. I am hopeful for that to change though.
If you would like to give it a try, feel free to friend me :) If not, no offense taken ;)

I'm a vegetarian who likes to take long walks through nature, especially to daydream. I would also definitely call myself an introspective person. I'm a Canadian with strong ties to the US, so I'm especially keen on the nuanced differences between the two countries (the similarities are probably obvious enough).
I've temporarily unlocked my introduction post if you want to read it before deciding whether to add me or not.

I like to read as well but didn't recognize any of the books you mentioned.
It's nice to meet you! :-)
I'm somewhat new here on DW, but so far I enjoy being on here and writing about this and that.

I'll add you back and we can see how we like reading each other's journals.

We're about the same age (I'm in my late 30s), and I'm from & living in Germany. Also, we do have a similar approach to adding/subtracting people it seems, so I'd like to add you to my circle! You're welcome to check out my profile page for more info, and then we'll see how much we click. :D

All that to say, I'd like to add you, if that's all right?
