Before adding me, you should know: I'm a queer man from East Europe. I started this year outside holding my hamster in his carrier while we watched our building's roof, in which we had a rented flat, go up in flames - it definitely shaped the rest of this year for me, for better or worse. Since then I got a mortgage and bought a flat, moved, mourned the passing of my hammy, and recently got a promotion - starting as a Visual Merchandiser this Monday. I also suffer from PTSD from the experience. And I'm possibly autistic with ADHD as a bonus.

I try to keep my fandom life semi-separated from real life for safety reasons (way too many people get doxxed for liking the wrong fictional thing), so I talk more abstractly about my fanwork here when I do. But I stand by the old "Ship and let ship" mindset from the old days of fandom. I was also in a long term relationship with an antishipper which also made me more precautious in sharing such things.

Hope that's not a dealbreaker for you and we can still be friends.

Not a dealbreaker at all :) Most people I'm friends with on DW aren't even talking much/at all about fandom, and as long as I'm not judged for doing it or mentioning my fics/ships in my DW (which I seldom do), I'm good.

(I've switched to using a VPN at some point because I was arguing with anti-ship people on tumblr, so I feel you on the doxxing fear.)

Howdy! I'm also into comic books, and the boys (tv show)! I dabble in Star Trek and Star Wars as well. Sorry to hear about your flat going up in flames, that sounds horrible, but I'm glad you survived it!

Surprisingly, my flat only got flooded and everything smelled of smoke so I managed to salvage a lot from the main living area. The storage unit, where I had a lot of stuff that couldn't fit into the small flat, was right bellow the roof and that's all gone. But I definitely got lucky, most of my neighbours weren't as much. But honestly, if the only thing I'd manage to get out of there was my hamster, it would have been enough - everything else was just a bonus.
