Hello! After finally finding the password to this old thing again, I've decided that with the downfall of Twitter that I'd love to start properly blogging again, and hopefully I'm able to make some lovely friends along the way. I'm still in contact with friends I've made on LiveJournal, after all!

I mostly post about: My life in Japan, random musings both introspective and nonsensical, my hobbies, sometimes some fandom related things.

My hobbies are: Singing, reading, pretending I can draw (until I post my art and notice all of the mistakes, gah!), traveling whenever able, studying foreign languages

My fandoms are: Phantom of the Opera (if it's not obvious from my username!), Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy (VII and X in particular), Star Wars, Fate/ (mainly VN and prequel; not into FGO, sorry!), getting into Resident Evil lately, and I love to read fantasy novels like the Kushiel's Legacy series.

I'm looking to meet people who: are quite friendly and chill!

My posting schedule tends to be: Sporadic atm, but I hope to be consistent

When I add people, my dealbreakers are: I'm... I try to be courteous and kind to everyone, but I typically don't get along well with hardcore conservatives/right-wingers. I enjoy discourse, but not at the expense of debating the rights of people to even exist in peace. (Basically, if you would vote for Trump, we probably won't get along!)

Before adding me, you should know: I'm in the middle of a divorce, so I may talk about being trauma bonded and other things similar to that. Those posts will go behind a locked entry, but fair warning!

My age is "the answer to life, the universe, and everything"... (points if you get that reference).

I play a few instruments, bass guitar and trombone being my main ones. Trying to bring myself to learn others, like saxophone. I also write... I have a self-published novel out that I co-authored with my wife, and always have several unfinished projects I'm trying to make myself finish.

I haven't watched Phantom of the Opera, been meaning to for some time... but I do love the music from it. Remember playing it back in high school band.

For my part, I'm a libertarian... that's a "small l" libertarian, as I don't like the direction the party has taken. With that, I have a few stances that may seem in line with the right - support of the 2A, economics, that sort of thing... but, I come at them rather from different and much less hypocritical perspectives that tend to annoy the right. For example, I quite literally teach people in the LGBT+ community how to safely and effectively use firearms. The right wingers really don't seem to like that.

Exactly. Everyone deserves to enjoy the same rights as anyone else.

On the trauma stuff... I understand well. I grew up with a very abusive mother, and it set me up for very abusive relationships. I'm pretty sure my most recent ex was working herself up to try to kill me. Now though, I'm happily married... we've had two kids, one living. The first one died in NICU. But, I do occasional posts (used to be much more frequent) about my experiences with abuse.

Hi there! Fellow Final Fantasy fan, here - I've played ALL the main series, including the MMOs. FFX was my first and is still a favorite of mine; I'm not a big fan of original FFVII but have played Remake recently and quite enjoyed it. It's good stuff. I have a very slight preference for Zack over Cloud, as Crisis Core is delightful, but still love Cloud a lot, too.

Your journal post sounds like the kind of things I tend to write about: my journal is, primarily, a journal, and I discuss a lot of what's going on in my brain/in my life, with the occasionally squeeing over video games or crafts. The majority of my posts are access locked, but I'm free with giving access; if you want to add me, I'll add back and give access, but you're under no requirement to add me to any various access lists you might have.
