intro!
Age: 30s
I mostly post about:
- anime: series/OVAs from the 70s through the early 00s (the Leijiverse, Ghost in the Shell, Sailor Moon, Evangelion, anything Shinichiro Watanabe touches)
- pro hockey: Toronto Maple Leafs are my team, but I love hockey and keep up with all of it
- music: slowcore, shoegaze, doom metal, IDM, math rock, visual kei, and post-punk are my sweet spots
- Star Wars: X-wing, ABC Squadron, Thrawn, pockets of Expanded Universe/Legends
- cultural theory: lots of Mark Fisher, Ccru pieces, Verso titles, and books/essays on the evolving relationships between humans and technology
Hobbies: researching new topics, playing Overwatch, reading (mostly nonfiction at the moment), being Chronically Online
Fandoms: To be honest, I've not participated in fandom extensively in the last few years due to internet toxicity. But I absolutely love Star Wars and I just ignore parts of the universe I dislike. I've also dabbled in Marvel Comics/MCU, Harry Potter, and Doctor Who (mostly classic , with the Second Doctor and Jamie McCrimmon being my absolute favorites)
I'm looking to meet people who: are nerdy but also positive. Even if our fandoms or interests don't heavily overlap, I'm always open to new things and new media; I'm just not open to fighting about ships, fics, etc. within fandom communities
I also prefer that most of my followers are 21+ but it's okay if you're 18-20. Not that I post a lot of NSFW content, but there are some occasions where I need to blog about extremely personal, often triggering things (and I'll always put it under a cut or preface with a trigger warning regardless).
Posting schedule: I'm holding myself to at least once a week these days, but it'll probably be more.
Dealbreakers: MAGAts and users that are generally spiteful/angry/toxic. Both of those may seem like a given, but ya know, gotta spell it out. If you're in a fandom and you disagree with me about an opinion, I'm happy to welcome your viewpoint; however, you should be respectful and treat it like discourse rather than being a bullheaded anti.
Before adding me, you should know: I believe Black lives matter, 2SLGBTQIA+ rights are human rights, science is fact (although evolving), and that everyone should have access to essentials like housing, food, clean water, and hygiene. I'm very Left but I will rarely post about politics; if anything, it'll be more socialistic theory and conceptual subjects. I think we've all had enough of bad political juju over the last several years and I don't like to add to the noise.
