It's been a year or so... Let's give it a spin again
Name: Morgan aka Norn aka morgue_n
My fandoms are: I'm really interested in anthropology, proto-indo-european, the development of world myth, archaeology, whatever.
Age: 36
I mostly post about: I don't do fandoms, and I don't really post about the everyday stuff in my life. I use the space to unravel my head.
Ugh I'm terrible at this one. Pass.

My hobbies are: I travel a lot! I've been to China, Tibet autonomous region, Korea, Japan, Iceland, India, the Philippines, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Turkey, Thailand, and I feel like a few others I'm forgetting rn. I'm vaguely Buddhist. I spent a winter in a monastery in Korea, and they suggested I take up the cloth because I "didn't complain, not even once!' I like to tie things in my life to things that I've experienced elsewhere. I spent most of my life up until this point doing things so that I'd have a good story later on.

I'm looking to meet people who: say what they think. Tell me what they feel. teach me something. inspire me. I crave authenticity.
My posting schedule tends to be: Sporadic. 'm more likely to post in the winter, when I'm at my laptop, at night, and something in my head needs unraveled. I try to use this as practice to stay centered. I don't post often, but when I do, it's usually a doozy.
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: don't be a jerk.
Before adding me, you should know: I probably won't comment on your journal much, unless you're wrestling with some conflict or asking opinions. I have a hard time coming up with things to say in response to daily itinerary type journals, and I don't have much to contribute to fandom journals.
I do read though, and if I see a good place to put 2 cents, I always comment.

I - yes, partly. Incidentally, the two entries I made today will answer this in a more detail (not that I'm trying to force you to look at them XD )

I taught in Asia for 10 years-- about 5 in Korea and 5 in Shanghai. I loved Shanghai. I worked at a pretty prestigious school there. Coi ponds and bamboo and stuff within its walls, for example. It really sucks, watching what has happened to the city. I got out just before it got really weird, in 2021. I miss it.
I doubt I'll be back to China any time soon. :-/

Yeah, it's the same for us. My husband spent three separate semesters teaching in China and while the first two - both before 2020 - were fine, I could come to visit and we went to see places, this last one (this year) was just impossible. And none of us thinks we'll go to China any time in the next years... :(
Korea is cool, through! I've only been once for a short conference, but enjoyed it thoroughly! I would go back there any time!
