Hello! Looking to expand my reading list a bit and meet some new people.

About me: I am 40-[mumble], I live in Scotland, I like sci-fi and plants and trivia about government administration. I have kids and cats and shrimp.

About what's in my journal: I mostly post about my life, with a bit of fandom sometimes, and I still read/write a bit of fic but not much these days (currently heavy on the spaceship stuff so Babylon 5, Star Wars and assorted Trek); my job as a civil servant, which I like to talk about sort of generally but not specifically; my kids and parenting stuff; what I'm watching/reading lately; where I live; sometimes hobbies, when I remember I have any. Occasionally religion (I'm Catholic).

About my friending/adding policy: I like reading about other people's lives and views. I have no dealbreakers really. You can say hi or just add me if you're interested, I'll generally add back. Journal is about 75% public and updated sporadically although I'm trying to get into the habit of writing more often.

We have some commonalities. I like sci fi (reading and watching), big Trek fan, but I don't do fandom stuff -- I will occasionally discuss shows I watch, but not in a fannish way, whatever that means. I am also a civil servant of sorts -- but I work for a provincial Legislative Assembly here in Canada -- so I do talk about my work, mostly ultra nerdy parliamentary procedure-related stuff that likely bores people to death. Sorry not sorry. My journals is mostly just day to day stuff, and deathly boring, especially since working from home, which I still do 3 days a week. I used to post pretty much daily, but now it's more like 2-3 times a week simply because very little happens. Anyway, my journal is 99% locked, so I've granted you access. If not interested, that's fine.
