INTERESTS & HOBBIES: I collect movies like Friday the 13th, Halloween, Evil Dead, MCU, DCU, Star Wars series, Barney Miller, Eureka, Warehouse 13, Murder She Wrote and Columbo and certain adult oriented or horror anime. Since I am gay, I also like Yaoi (boy love) too. Plus, I am a geek, not a nerd. I don't have the smarts for the title. I am a born-again newbie gamer. I started gaming after a long dry spell. I am also a poster of " the male form" on special occasions.
LOOKING FOR: As I mentioned before, I am gay. I would like gay allies and other homosexuals. I hate Trump and the anti-vax movement. I worry a lot. Anyone bipolar and other anxiety conditions can apply. These options make me feel less alone. Don't get me started on gun control.
ANYTHING ELSE?: I can get the shakes from my legal medications for my bipolar/anxiety. It gets on my nerves and fear I get judged as a MAJOR drug attic. I do bitch and complain sometimes but I am trying to lessen those types of posts.

regisjr I left not only about Ukraine. When my only emails came in Russian, I knew it was really time to go. Over 10.000 posts have been left behind. Now I brought them over here. I may not be happy about that but I hope to be pleased here with new friends.

I migrated over here to Dreamwidth from LiveJournal, although I sometimes write things on LJ just in case some of my former friends are still active there.
It might be that only trolls are left now.

I am a Yaoi/Yuri writer, which helps ward off panic attacks, when I tried to emulate my parents in becoming a musician. (Panic attacks f'ed up my first, second, third, fourth, and fifth tries at Calculus! T_T IT'S SUCH AN EXPENSIVE COURSE REGIS - LIKE OVER A HUNDRED DOLLARS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT - so I ended up having to retake Pre-Calc again THREE TIMES and be happy I'm welcome to such an elite University. With a mask. If I could ever afford the plane trip on top of the coursework. I think there is still too much of a COVID-19 problem for this to be a very serious idea.)
Anyway. in Meet Me Under the Babbling Brook, I worked hard to get Luke Skywalker's bisexual affections into a story where I easily could get Obi-Wan Kenobi and Boba Fett together. My Archive Of Our Own pseudonym is 1fmeow since I wanted to come up with something that didn't have my given name or the names my various language teachers have given me in it [I can only remember the HS ones right now: Ulrike/German and Alta then Placida in Latin when I discovered well, I'm not as tall as the sycamore anymore], as I wanted to stay relatively "language-neutral" - my focus was on numerics and cat sounds. With an F in there, to spite myself. As I dread not passing something.
The challenge I was facing with the linked story was remembering everyone from the original Star Wars in the canon.
(My sole work up in Russian is pure whale watching, where the only interesting part of it is how Anna & her lover Alexei 100% couldn't hear each other over the surf.)
Yuri is more my wheel-house since I am not terribly familiar with male anatomy, past dissecting animals. Even then, I am not the fondest of formaldehyde so I'm glad that the bio-chem folk are letting me do a semester virtually u_u;
I learnt a modicum of Ukrainian on Duolingo! ^_^ Privyet! I don't know it very well, yet, even though I started learning Ukrainian about a year after I started learning Russian and I learned they might be related.
I know Russian better at the moment since I took a semester of it at the university a long time ago, and some Russian history.
I don't really know much of worth.
Wow, it says you've been on LJ for 19 years! :O That would have been since I was twelve, three years before I got my LJ!

As for LJ, I may not go back. If I do, Russia must get over this Ukraine thing and get rid of Putin.

I just know a lot of "mathmo's" [which is a researched term for one who likes to compute a la Mayim Bialik] peeking out of the rafters since they are fairly nice people if you don't seem like you're going to bite their heads off or ask for much more than they can do.
They have discerned that my prowess lies... in taking care of creatures.
My cats are about ten years old each - my mother reported one is 3 and the other 6. I think they are older than that.
That's fine. The ЖЖ community there is vibrant as is. (It is now called Живой Журнал according to Wikipedia - when I originally started my LiveJournal it advertised itself as somewhere in CA... oh, according to the Wiki, that checks out historically! Well, that Russian scrawl I showed you means the same thing. /studied linguistics & all sorts of interesting odds and ends in undergrad, claiming "oboe performance" before things got rough; went abroad to the PRC before COVID-19 because politically it still seemed somewhat awkward to visit the Russian Federation)

Actually I was taken by bus to a really interesting linguistics conference in New Jersey! :D (I'm not only a Russian linguist, I also am familiar with Latin, Chinese and Japanese. Bits and pieces of French I've picked up from having Canadian allies through LJ. German, my mother's forced onto me, and I took a year in high school, but it's not my best language.)

I don't know where Putin would get all this unfettered money anymore from what I have read of what other nations are doing in response. The oligarchs? The state schools?
There IS a certain amount of money there, I know, I have read about it, but it will deplete itself sooner or later.

I reread what you said and still think as what I said before, since I think that doesn't really need any form of explanation, since you might not be contacting those people again, unless they come to Dreamwidth. Right?
