Meaningful connections

 Hey! The past few weeks I started up journaling again for two main reasons - to dump some noise in my head into "paper" and to make some meaningful connections with people again as we both learn about each others intimate lives and support another. I've had online journals for over 20 years, but took a long hiatus thinking that "I can just do Facebook and Twitter now". It's not the same. Anyways, more about me!

Who am I? 

I'm Derek - a bisexual nerdy man in his late 30s posting about nerdy gaming stuff like retro games, streaming matters, and board games. I also write a lot about relationships, dating, sex and play-partners. And the usual random daily life ruminations and anxieties. I don't censor myself and there will be no trigger warnings on my journal.

I'm very accepting and non-judgmental and try my best to read all your posts and interact when I have something to contribute! All my posts are "friends-only" for privacy reasons. I want my journal to be the one place I can turn off all filters and be myself. I'm sure you understand!

I'm a bit of a gaming nerd and write about the randomness of my days. I have no problem with not censoring yourself. It's your journal, you write what you want :) I agree mainstream social media right now is not a replacement by any stretch. Add if ya like?

Hey! I'm 30 and we don't have much in common beyond "accepting and non-judgmental" but I do LIKE games, though I suck at remembering to actually play them, and I think it would be fun to read about the stuff you get up to. There's nothing actually on my journal yet - LJ convert - but if you wanna take a tiny leap of faith, I'm game :)

I am always myself. haha I do know what you mean about Facebook not being the same as writing a journal. The connections just aren't there. You can make acquaintances, at best, if you don't actually message people. Here, you can get to know them beyond videos, articles they may like, and a few short sentences about their lives.
