Hello, World
Hi everybody. Like lots of other folk these days, I'm making my way over here from LiveJournal. I had an account there for YEARS, though I'd fallen out of using it regularly until recently.
Though the lights are still on over there, the uncertainty lingers, and nobody knows if we're going to wake up one day and find that somebody pulled the plug. So, since I'd just gotten back into journaling regularly, mostly because it's good for my mental health, I thought I'd make an account here since it seems to be the more stable option these days.
So, here's a bit about me...
My name is Kevin and I'm a So Cal native and I've been a professional ghostwriter for about 5 or 6 years now.
Favorite Books: Animal Farm, 1984, ASOIF series, The Hobbit & LOTR series, The Nevernight Chronicles, The Faithful and Fallen series, ANYTHING by Stephen King (he's my personal deity), The Wheel of Time series, ANYTHING by Michael Connelly, most things by John Saul, and... well, lots of other things.
Favorite Movies: Quills, American Beauty, Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon, the John Wick movies, the Jurassic Park movies, most DC & Marvel movies, the Replacements, the Magnificent Seven (2016).
I don't watch a lot of TV, but some of my favorites are Battlestar Galactic (2004), Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, Modern Family. I LOVE music and thanks to my job, usually listen for 8-10 hours a day and my tastes are all over the place ranging from classical to Metallica. The only things I don't listen to really are country and opera.
Anything Else?: I'd like to connect with folks who are active and have some similar interests. One of the things that drew me back to journaling (aside from getting everything out of my head) was the sense of community I had on LJ. I miss that and the friends I made there a lot. So, I'm hoping to find people who feel that way as well and want to get to know each other.
Also, I tend to have a dark/twisted sense of humor and am not for the easily offended. I'm also usually pretty verbose. I have Twitter for quick, snarky replies but am hoping to have actual conversations with people.
Anyway, if you think we might be a good fit, I'd love to hear from you!

I sadly, have not. Justine has been on my "to read" list forever. It's one I would really like to read.
