The Fannish Me
I stopped using LJ back during the mass exodus, but I've never posted here so I thought I would, since there are a lot of new people joining. I'm very happy about that!
I use my journal mainly for fandom things with personal posts interspersed now and then. I've been in fandom for decades, attended my first con in the 1980s. I published several fanzines back in those days. I love the oldies-but-goodies, so I've got a mix of old & new fandom interests which include Leverage, Good Omens, Sherlock, Torchwood, Moonlight, Quantum Leap, The Sentinel, Starsky & Hutch. A list of most of the shows I like are on my profile under interests. I'm primarily into slash, but I will read and write gen, femslash, and m/f as well. It's the relationships between characters that interests me the most.
I also enjoy photography as a hobby, but I don't post much here. I have other places where I display my images. I love to travel, but rarely get to do it these days. I like experiencing new things and exploring mysteries. My music tastes are fairly eclectic but mainly rock (alternative and 80s especially). I'm a cat person, who is currently owned by a very spoiled orange tabby.
My personal life is boring when it's not a struggle, so I don't post about it much. I'm a workaholic who is pretty isolated outside of that and the internet. I wish it wasn't so, but that's the way things are. I have some physical health issues, as well as depression and anxiety. I don't always find time for fandom so I don't post every day, but I'm trying to increase my activity here. I live in the South US, not by choice but by necessity. I hope to move up north again some day.
My journal is mostly open, and I welcome anyone who would like to stop by. I love talking about a wide variety of topics. I am liberal leaning though, so if you're not... we probably won't see eye to eye on life.
All my fanfic is on AO3 at Cat_Moon. My newer stuff gets posted here as well. I have some stuff on other archives too, although I don't really post anywhere except here and AO3. I have accounts at Twitter and Tumblr, but almost never visit those. I love the journal format here, so I'm really hoping it makes a comeback among fandom. I love to do the drabble and Bingo challenges here on DW.
