Hey there! So since there are a lot of people coming over here, thought I'd drop a line. I essentially use DW as a back up for my LJ, so I wasn't here much before. ( I'm jlynnaz30 on LJ.) The world is a hot mess-- and only getting hotter-- and I think we can all use friends! Here's the details:

NAME: Jamie

AGE: 40 and I reside in the USA. Making friends is hard to begin with, especially with the pandemic now and the insanity of basically everything at the moment. I am a SAHM mom of two. I have a 7 year old and a 3 year old. My husband works from home which makes things interesting from time to time. Lots of, "Sssh... Daddy is working." mini discussions happen a lot during the day.

INTERESTS & HOBBIES: I've always ended up keeping to myself. I'm a huge reader, Streaming service binger, I like to adult color. I also have a "almost unheard of" hobby called penpaling. Usually the response from people is, "what now?" I like writing letters to people in the mail. USPS. It's so fun to get something other than State Farm bills. This also gives me another hobby for stationary making and envelope making. I adore stickers and scrapbook paper type things.

I abhor the stupidity of people so I tend to keep to myself. I also am disabled with Cerebral Palsy, so that labels me. So many people assume because I'm disabled, I can't do something.

Husband and I are nerdy. We play video games. ( I'm more of an Animal Crossing type). I like LOTR more than Harry Potter(sorry guys), crystals, fantasy shows ( "The Witcher, please), bicycle rides ( I have an Adult tricycle!) with the family, swimming, hiking, bubble baths, all sorts of music and weird words.

I'm a nerdy gamer as well (ESO mainly, and I've been on the Elden Ring bandwagon since it was released recently) I'm a bit of an introvert as well and tend to be overly sensitive to stupidity. I think we have quite a bit in common :) If you're up for it, add me!

I'm a gamer myself (mainly of Western and Japanese RPGs), and am largely into fantasy literature, so I'd like to be friends if you're willing.

Before kids, my husband used to play WoW a lot. He was always a fan of those type of games. Now, with the kids and working he doesn’t have a lot of time for “quest games” of that type. We now play way too much of Mario because the kids like it. I added you. ⭐️

You sound quite interesting. I can't believe that people don't know what penpaling is. That's a bit ridiculous. I would love to do that, but being totally blind, it's not exactly easy, as I can't read handwriting and don't own a printer to post printed materials. I, too, have no time for stupidity. I love words, and riding on a tricycle sounds like fun!

There are many things that are interesting that are obsolete now. I love rotary phones and the idea of a house phone in general, but my husband doesnt want to pay for a house line. I also think in a way, what if something disability related happened to me and my kids can’t find my phone or unlock it.

I also have typewriters, and my sister-in-law thinks its weird because “computers are just easier”. Yeah, but you get distracted with computers. I usually write my letters on them, but occasionally i will attempt to write something creative.

And there’s no reason why you can’t have an “e-mail penpal” if you wanted. Some people email letters to each other. All you have to do is talk to Jarvis. I know someone who is blind and that’s what I call his program.
