INTERESTS & HOBBIES: I live in my mind and strive to constantly learn. I consume narratives in different mediums: The Expanse and the Saxon Stories are both great books and TV series, if you haven't had a chance yet. My favorite genres are hard sci-fi, historical fiction, and medical history. SawBones is my favorite podcast. (I am not squeamish.) I started to learn German, which I have wanted to ever since studying Old English. I knit, embroider, crochet, and cross stitch. I have an obsession with writing utensils and making lists. I enjoy weight lifting, astronomy, and games.

POSTS: I post approximately once a week about my intellectual pursuits and occasionally work. (I'm a software engineer who does it all, though databases are my one true love.) I used to be on LJ as a teenager, and I quite find myself missing the journaling community. Hence, why I signed up on Dreamwidth.

LOOKING FOR: I am looking for people around my age who share similar interests. I'm not active in fandom anymore.

Oh, yes please. You’re doing some fancy development work. I read your profile, and I see that you ensure ISO-compliance. I have to ensure systems are compliant with federal and international regulations. I make Windows desktop software and am currently centralizing the company’s data. It will be great to research the kind of work you do.

I used to be quite a fiend for ISO 9001:2008 in a previous role. Still think it's a damn fine idea for any organisation, regardless of whether they seek formal certification or not.

I check boxes on the needlecraft side of things, writing tools (fountain pens), list making, and games. Although at the moment most of my journal is about our house-hunt (we are in the process of selling our house in the Big City to get a property in the English countryside), and cooking. I’ve been stress-knitting socks during the pandemic, I should maybe post pictures of some of them at some point XD I aim to post every day, usually manage a few times a week.

I'm close in age and check boxes in scifi, games, crochet, and non-squeamishness ;-) I also have a bit of German via family/friend connections, and I speak Swedish which has a lot of the Old English roots in common.
