Deep breath, you've got this. Here we go.
NAME: Honigfrosch, or HF for short
ALSO KNOWN AS: I have pretty much zero social media presence anywhere else because I'm old and cranky and today's internet confuses me. Dreamwidth is the pair of shoes I'm going to wear until they fall apart.
AGE: In my forties, a wonderful decade where your body decides it's now too tired for [insert thing that used to be no problem]
INTERESTS & HOBBIES: Horror movies. Discovering and recommending music. Goth stuff (tradgoth/waver). LGBT issues & history, as I'm bi & trans myself. Vegan/vegetarian cooking & baking. Mental health. Vampires. Board/card/tabletop games. Role-playing games, although that's kind of a passive hobby--currently I'm only in one Star Wars campaign, playing a droid. He's the ship mechanic, can't talk due to a broken voicebox and secretly collects plants and flowers.
Fandom-wise, I don't write about it all that much, and tend to confine regular posting to meta or reviews. For fanfic/origfic and related musings I have a newly created extra writing filter that you can opt into. Currently I'm falling headfirst into Dragon Age, mainly thanks to Fenris and Dorian. I also love Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines: So Many Colons. I like a lot of smaller fandoms (e.g. Doom Patrol, The Terror, Lost Souls) and am working on a community to serve as my public rec/bookmark index.
LOOKING FOR: A feminist trans-friendly husband with 3 cats who mixes me a Flying Kangaroo when I'm stressed. I mean Dreamwidth friends, I'm looking for those... also for those.
Overlapping interests are great but not required. I like linkspams, knowing how your day was, movie/tv/book reviews, pop culture analysis, personal essays on whatever's dear to your heart... and I'm fine with fandom content, unless it's only about that or solely a fic writing journal. (I'm still going to grant you access in that case, I just won't subscribe back.) Basically, you write it, I'll read it.
Now for the "please be okay with" part: Please be okay with my not commenting that often, or taking ages to reply to a comment. I only have a very limited amount of energy to spread around and I am trying my best, I swear. If you ever find yourself wondering whether I still read your journal when I haven't commented in a long time: yes, I do. I'm a dedicated lurker.
ANYTHING ELSE?: I've been burnt by low-quality tumblr discourse. Please don't bring "inclusionist/exclusionist" lingo or queer theory à la "drones are queering warfare" into my house, I beg of you.
ANY *OTHER* ANYTHING ELSE?: Look even more reading I'm sorry but it's my sticky entry please read it.

If it looks promising to you then I will gladly add you to the filter group.
Really, pleased to meet you. Have seen you around sometimes in replies to mutual friends.

True confession: my favorite Rilke has been the first Elegy since forever because when I first encountered him I loved it for being so extra.

I'm 46, pansexual, vegan, and we have some common interests. I'll even share my somewhat embarassing Dragon Age post if you're interested.

We do indeed have a lot in common. And I would love to read your thoughts on Dragon Age, if you are comfortable sharing. Considering that I am still at the stage of helplessly stumbling through fandom with zero knowledge, no artistic talent and "I love this Tevinter rebel prince so much" as my only guide, I cannot and will not judge.

Speaking of your icon, TNG was the only Star Trek series I was ever fannish about, I even subscribed to a German fanzine for a while when I was a teenager (until I couldn't afford it anymore.) So it comes with a heavy dose of nostalgia for me.

I wasn’t a fan back in the TNG days but I have seen some of the German fanzines. One of them had a lot of naked Data. Heh. And yeah from what I know the official stuff was ridiculously expensive, especially for teenagers. It’s still not exactly cheap, I really hate how the cool stuff is only available in the US and IF I can get my hands on it it’s twice as expensive due to shipping and taxes. Not cool, that!
Added you back, of course!

Ugh yes having to order stuff internationally--IF you can even do it because most times you can't. Or it is so limited (not just in numbers but also circulating in a small corner of the internet, e.g. fan tumblrs and one kickstarter, so if you don't happen to be a part of that circle you're shit out of luck) and immediately sells out so quickly that you have ZERO chance of obtaining a copy. It's beyond frustrating.

Yeah, Data is definitely the fan favorite from TNG. I don't mind - it means more Jean-Luc for me. ;)
I've had to resort to asking friends in the US to order things for me and then send it over because a lot of sellers refuse to ship internationally (including, ironically, the official Star Trek website). It's one hell of a hassle and it makes things even MORE expensive because I then have to pay for shipping twice - once from seller to friend and then from friend to me. Frustrating to no end.

Lordy, I feel that. LOL
And, your "looking for" made me do a double take. Very sharp. :D

Thank you! If the husband could look a little bit like Jake Gyllenhaal, that would be even better. But I suppose my actual future will be Hermitic Cat Lord Who Also Feeds The Squirrels In His Backyard.

I just googled the "queer drones" thing and I... just... wowsers. All right then.

Welcome to my journal, then! Glad to meet you, will add you back in a minute.

Plus, I know how to make a mean Kangaroo.

Hm, hmmm. Nice. I'm really good at making vegan advocaat. Do you also know how to mix a Swimmingpool?
*off to hit subscription buttons*

Alas, I don't know how to fix a swimming pool, but I think I could work it out.

I haven't written about the RPG sessions yet, but I intend to and will explain the concept of my mostly-mute robot and how playing him went for me. Like you I am very anxious about speaking in-character and my robot allowed me to reduce that stress. If my experiences can offer you some helpful insight, that would be great.
