Returning blogger
Hello, my curious colleagues.
I have just recommenced blogging, after three years away, and it would be jolly nice to have a bit of feedback, not to mention some other bloggers' posts to read. My Facebook entries were becoming long and ranty, and I thought, hmm, I'm losing sight of the point of FB; these are more like blog entries. So, I have relegated FB to its proper function, of recycling memes and other trivial tat, and here I am.
Info about myself: I'm into art (I draw with charcoal and paint with pastels), films, music (I make my own electronic music and post it onto SoundCloud) and writing. I'm a Christian, retired early from a pig's bum of a job, I live in rural Derbyshire, am happily unattached and still bewildered by life and people.
Right, I think that's good to be going on with. Time for a curry. See how easily distracted I am?

I'm a conscientious reader and feedback giver, that's for sure. Have not been posting much lately (life's hard), but I'm popping up from time to time with something more or less interesting. At the very least, I'm quite an uncommon sort of person, which should make me interesting, right? :D

Can you show us some of your art? And what are your favorite films/your favorite genre?
Derbyshire isn't far from Manchester, right? Is it more country out there, or more like Crumpsall?

Films, let's see, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, almost anything with Harrison Ford in, I love a good shoot-em-up, thriller (not horror, though, nor musicals), comedies, the Godfather I and II, Star Wars, um, um, and the greatest film ever made is Dumb & Dumber.

Oh, it looks like I have to have an account to access it?
Is Lord of the Rings/Hobbit more an outlier, or do you take to fantasy some? And good lord, Dumb & Dumber. Did the sequels hold up for you?

Outlier? I like fantasy films well enough, but I'm not a fanatic. Harry Potter, for instance, leaves me cold. Disney fairy tales are nice. I like sci-fi but then again I'm not a fanatic. No, the Dumb & Dumber sequel and prequel were poor, weren't they. The original film was one of those that are rife with lines that you can quote. My mate Robbie and I used to do so when I lived in California: "He must work out." "That's a lovely accent you have there. New Jersey?" "How did they know I've got gas?" "D'you want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?" "This party sure died." Another such film is A Hard Day's Night, but don't get me started.

Also, there is a squirrel outside my window. He and I have about the same level of attention span.
