Looking for New Friends
NAME: Drac
ABOUT ME: I'm a gay man in The Orville's target audience age range of 18-49, and I'm one of three identical triplets. I recently got divorced (no kids) and don't have many friends, but I'm close with my brothers and parents and talk about them a lot! I live alone in a rural area, so you can expect some charming (at least I hope it's charming) farmer-type stuff when I talk about my day :D
INTERESTS & HOBBIES: Hiking & camping, reading, writing, whittling, painting
I use DW mostly as a journal for the everyday goings-on in my life, especially to catalog interesting events at work (small-town newspaper), hikes I've gone on, hanging out with my family, etc. But I also use it to post my thoughts on books I've read recently and also as a sort of nature journal, so you can expect random lists of butterflies or birds I've seen, mushrooms I've discovered nearby, interesting trees and plants I've found. The most recent books I've posted about are Create Dangerously by Albert Camus, Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin, and A Single Man by Christopher Isherwood, just so you have a general idea of what you're getting into here lol.
My two greatest fandoms are horror in general (books, movies, TV shows, I love it all and I'm OBSESSIVE about it) and Star Wars, which I don't talk about much, but with Rise of Skywalker coming out, it's likely I will (just a warning!). I like the Star Wars EU as well, especially the Thrawn books.
I try to write a fanfic every day but I don't post about those much, except when I occasionally post lists of which fics I've done this week. I don't post about the plots I'm working on or the pairings I like, though. As such, while I'm not a fandom blog, I totally don't mind following fandom blogs. In fact, I kind of love it! It's super interesting to see what other people are passionate about, even if it's not something I share.
(Side Note: All my journal-type posts are access-only, so if you look at my post history before you add me, you won't see much of what's described here -- only a few book posts and fic lists! Trust me, there's a lot more there lol)

✓ I LOVE HORROR, TOO
✓ The Orville :D
✓ "Giovanni's Room" is sitting on my to-read shelf (well, it's a to-read cabinet, not just a shelf, but I'm going to get to that book eventually)
✓ Your oldschool horror icons
✓ Your username (I'm having a fannish obsession with vampires)
✓ You like guys
✓ One can never have too much nature posts or book reviews
So yeah, I'd very much like to add you.

I super miss the messiness of the old EU with all its space!hot chocolate drinking and weirdness. I don't have anything against the new Disneyverse (some of it I really like) but I do miss the lawlessness of the old universe.

A bit more about me: I'm in my 30s, work as a librarian, write fiction, read speculative fiction and comics, and write mostly about daily life.
