Hi. I'm Amanda. I'll be 17 in June. I normally don't like giving away my age, since people base intelligence on just that. I like to think I'm pretty insightful and I also like to think I'm quite mature.
I joined DW this morning, and I love it. I get a different feel when I'm here than when I'm at LiveJournal. I'm not sure why. Everything here is just fresh, I guess. Anyway, I would love to have some friends on here. I don't want just anyone though. I want people who will reply to my entries and I want people who are interesting enough for me to reply to theirs. I love those online friends who you can just look forward to talking to because they are made of awesome and love and you can sometimes tell them personal stuff because they care. I want that kind of friend to be added to my list.
As for my journal entries, I don't like to write about what's going on in my life, really. I like to write about movies, tv shows, art, music, video games, and more of my interests. I don't keep to myself, though. If you would like to know more about me, ask and I'll gladly tell you :) As long as it's not the too obviously personal.

New beginnings.
I see you've already met
Re: New beginnings.
Well, I wouldn't quite say that yet. I've added that user not too long ago, and we haven't spoken yet. YET :P

I'm not sure if my journal qualifies as interesting or not, but judging from your recent entries, you seem like someone I could get along with smashingly, so I've added you, if that's okay. :D
PS: Major points for the "Once Upon a December" lyrics on your profile.

I know what you mean. I've been on LiveJournal for nine years this April (and I've imported the entirety of my LJ content), and there's definitely a different "feel" to the DW site and user interface than the current status of LJ. I think part of it might be that "ooh! shiny-new!"-ness of the LJ of nine years ago, but I think it's all of the currently-still-small differences that add to it. The diversity statement helps, and is most apparent, but it's the littler differences — like the terminology of "access / subscriber / reading list / circle" versus "friends / friend groups" and the user-interface differences involved with that. It's like there's no obligation to take an interest in somebody else's journal, but you can still be nice and grant them access if their interest in yours appears genuine. Or, just hitting "random" last night, I found this person's journal where they're pretty much just uploading this beautiful photography that they do, and while I'm interested in looking at more and maybe even commenting, looking over their interests, I see no real reason to grant this person access to any of my locked or filtered entries, so I simply hit "subscribe" and moved on (of course, thinking about it, I might just leave them a note about the lovely photos).
