Hello!
NAME: Olivia
AGE: 32
INTERESTS & HOBBIES: I like to draw a lot, and mostly make fanart of whatever I'm fixated on at any given time. I like to take long walks as I listen to music that fills me with energy. I enjoy knitting, and though I first learned the basics 5 years ago, I still consider myself a beginner (the most complex thing I've ever knitted was a slouchy hat, hahah). I love everything sci-fi, both hard sci-fi and sci-fi that flips the bird to science. Aliens, monsters, mutants, if it's big, scary, and unknown, it has my full attention. I love animated movies and cartoons and I don't discriminate between old and new- I love the roundness of old toons just as much as I love the angular look of those of modern times. I'm very fascinated with robots and I'm looking forward to the day we'll all have a sophisticated robotic A.I. in our homes (probably won't happen in my lifetime sigh). I love cats and dogs, and my home doesn't feel complete without at least one furball (or wrinkly ball- I love, love, LOVE Sphynx cats!). <3
LOOKING FOR: Mainly personal journals. I was on DeadJournal until LiveJournal opened the gates to the general public, which if I remember correctly was sometime in 2003. I came to Dreamwidth shortly after LJ redesigned the look of comment pages, and removed subject lines in late 2011. So I practically grew up with online journals, and I still view my DW as a central point in my online presence, though admittedly the recent trend of microblogging has somewhat killed my mojo. I'm ok with fandom content, as my own journal is a mix of both RL and fannish stuff, but I'm looking to get to know people on a more personal level. I'm not interested in RP and fanfic journals.
ANYTHING ELSE?: I'm queer, non-binary, left leaning, childfree, and suffering from MDD and anxiety (both diagnosed by a professional, if that makes a difference to you), so that should give you a very good idea of what I'm not looking for. Life is pretty crappy if you don't conform, so I'd like to expand my online circle with like-minded individuals.
ALSO KNOWN AS: I'm Nimueth everywhere unless it's taken. I'm on most platforms, but I'm planning to drastically decrease my activity on them, and instead really focus on rebuilding a space here on DW. I'm not opposed to adding people on, say, Twitter, but I'd prefer to get to know them on a more personal level first. This is because I'm tired of the background noise of microblogging sites, they feel too fast paced and overstimulating in a bad way, so I'd rather not add more movement to my dashboards right now. It's different once I get to know someone, because then I know I'm interested in what they have to say!

You might eventually hear me talk about getting kids since I have a fiancee that is getting pressured about it though, just to warn, but the rest I'm totally cool with.

Sounds like we have many similar interests. I'm in the same place right now, wanting to be more active on a personal journal (even if I've fallen a bit off the horse wrt posting every day, woops)--and it's nice to get to know folks in journal format.
I'm looking forward to seeing all the snowflake challenge entries. It's a nice way to get to know folks. :)

Yeah, the likes of Twitter and Tumblr really killed the motivation for long winded, personal posts, haven't they?
I really need to catch up with the snowflake challenge, I'm still at day 5! x_x

glad to see someone who appreciates sphynx cats. they are so cute. I was friends with someone who had one... I miss seeing pics of that cat. such a cutie.
I am also nb and deal with anxiety... among other things. childfree and left-leaning as well, heh.
my journal is personal... though I don't write in it a whole lot. when I do, it tends to be kept short. I'm more timid on here since I don't know anyone 'round here on a personal basis. so I don't talk at length about most things.
I'm not sure if we share much in terms of interests, but I will add you!

Don't worry, I understand! Short entries are nice too, they're easier to keep track of and comment on.
Added!

It sounds like we could possibly get along very well! I used to be really active on LJ, but then tumblr was suddenly the thing and took everyone away :/ I'd be lying if I said I hated that platform, I think it's nice to look at pretty things, but it's not very conducive to developing new friendships and connecting with people.
I'm also queer, childfree, I have an anxiety disorder (diagnosed) and love cats (and dogs).
Mind if I add you?

Woops, sorry for the words, that was longer than intended. Added! :)

Hah, it's alright :) I added you back!
