INTERESTS & HOBBIES: I currently 'dabble' in world travel, photography, dog training, light language studies that I do horribly at. I enjoy reading and try to do that as much as humanly possible. Trashy romance is my favorite, but I also love sci-fi and mystery.

LOOKING FOR: I tend to be wary of fanfic journals. Just not my thing, sorry. But otherwise I'm open to just about anyone.

ANYTHING ELSE?: I've been active on journals in one form or another since before 2003. That includes Deadjournal, Livejournal, and now here since the Russian thing on Livejournal. Sometimes I go through bursts of commenting/posting, and sometimes I'm pretty quiet, typically on a stretch of traveling or when I'm exhausted.

Your cat is super adorable!! What kind of language things are you studying? Are you trying to learn a new language, or just looking at linguistics type of thing?

Thank you! She's an absolute handful! Since my boyfriend is from Austria, I'm sort of always learning bits of German. But Cherokee will always be my favorite to learn.

Oh dude, that's so cool! Is it true that german is similar to english? : O
my bf is chinese so i'm learning to speak cantonese for his family and it's so hard >< i'm really, really bad when it comes to tonal languages -- and canto just happens to have 6 tones. what's cherokee like though? i know a little bit of guarani/quechua so i'm curious if they're at all similar!

The problem I find with German is that they open their mouths more to pronounce their words than we do natively in English if that makes since. But as a language I don't know personally if they're similar. German words definitely make more sense lol.

Cherokee is hard to describe in words.
