You should really start a blog, they say...
NAME: Rob
AGE: Older than 30. Not ready for it...
INTERESTS & HOBBIES: I realized a few years ago I am an explorer. I like to try different things and wander the world, even if it is just in my hometown. I run and I practice yoga. My taste in media - books, movies, art, and so forth - tends towards independent and well thought out rather than blockbuster. On my wall there is a poster with a header at the top that reads, "A comedy about fear of commitment, hating your job, falling in love and other pop favorites." This could describe my day to day life, but not always what I will explore.
LOOKING FOR: People who reveal themselves by writing about their lives in a well thought out way. Looking to build a global community.
ANYTHING ELSE?: I'm curious to see the impression I make on people over time rather than by spelling out an exact inventory of my life. In the end, I want my life to be a story. Anyway. Legitimately, I live above a pub in an urban district not far out of Washington, DC. I cook a lot. I'm not a morning person but I act the part of one on television (just kidding). More introverted than extroverted, but I love meeting people and talking to people and have learned the fine art of "walking up to someone and striking up a conversation."
ALSO KNOWN AS: This is the third iteration of my life online I think. Recently wandered over from LiveJournal. If you're wondering why, read my first entry.

outside of that, i'm also a wanderer and, while i don't necessarily think i post about my thoughts in a terribly interesting way, i do tend to overthink everything and ramble about said overthinking in infrequent postings. typical topics for me are usually about prepping for trips, how much the public education system is a thorn in my side, and then actually talking about the trips i've been working so hard planning, and stressing about money in a nauseating amount of detail.
anyway, would love to add you, if any of that sounds cool to you.

Relatable!
I'm a total introvert. It seems to be getting worse as I age. I can't even pretend anymore - so I envy your ability to walk up to strangers & be friendly. I lack the gene to conversate with people.
I was on LJ for many years as well.
Add?

I try not to confuse being shy or anxious with being introverted :-). I believe awkwardness with small talk, especially with people you don't know well, is more of a sign of not knowing how to respond to someone else's unspoken social cues. It's the sort of thing I have to focus on, or just make the assumption that they aren't going to think I'm weird or crazy and start talking.
Sort of like this.
