My name is Laura and I'm twenty two year old Australian who moved to Canada earlier this year. It's nice, but very cold. I live with my wife and our three cats: Chloe, Yin and Rodney.

In my spare time I read, dabble at knitting, go to the theatre and concerts whenever possible, practice my (horrible) French, dream about travelling, Facebook and watch way too much Food Network. Recently I decided that I would like to write short stories and plays for fun. Don't worry, I'm not planning on pushing my mediocre writings on Dreamwidth. However, I would love to be friends with writers so that I can learn more about their creative process and their approach to their writing.

I lean to the left side of the political spectrum. I would love to write about and discuss politics in my journal. Unfortunately, on Livejournal, certain people have had rather immature reactions this. Dear potential reader, I love reading people's views. I do not love people who e-mail my then-girlfriend-now-wife to complain about my inherently invalid and incorrect views and demand that I be put in my place (true story).

I don't write about fandom, but I do love the Harry Potter series.

I'm looking for as many new friends as possible. I have a very quiet job that is conducive to constantly refreshing my reading page.

I'd like to add you as well, my journal isn't that interesting, but it's something to read.

Firstly, I LOVE your icon. Snape is my favourite character in the Potter-verse (though I was abit disappointed that J.K Rowling spent six books developing quite a multi layered character for a children's book and then turned around and said "LOL IT'S ALL FOR UNREQUITED HETEROSEXUAL LOVE!").

Secondly, added. I think that everyone has qualities that are interesting to another human being.

He is my favorite as well! I was so happy he turned out to be good in the end and I always loved how complex he was. Although yes I was disappointed it was all for something so cheesy and cliche(although the hopeless romantic in me thought it was very sweet) and that he died in such a seemingly unnecesarry way.
