LJ old timer, new here and looking for friends

• Thrifting and antiquing (I love vintage junk and I'm a bit of a hoarder)
• Vintage Pyrex and swung vases
• Lego (my boyfriend and build Lego things and I attend the DC area Lego convention each year)
• Cosplay (the renaissance fair, the local pirate festival, Halloween, and really any excuse to dress in costume)
• Road trips (I can't resist an opportunity to go exploring)
• Jewelry making (periodically I pull out my beads and make earrings...or chain mail if I'm in the mood)
• Cats (I have 3)
• Photography (I taking pictures of debatable quality, particularly of abandoned things and cemeteries, but also of my cats, vintage finds, and a variety of other random things. Yes, I do take selfies, too.)

LOOKING FOR: Friends. I honestly have a tough time making friends in "the real world" so I'm always looking for people to be friends with online. I made a lot of good friends on LJ over the years, and I'd like to give it a try here.

ANYTHING ELSE?: I was on LJ since 2004 and my journal there is basically an embarrassing chronicle of my 20s. I figured with all the weirdness going on, now would be a good time to start fresh here. Basically I write about my daily life, adventures, cats, and vintage finds with a smattering of pictures mixed in. I also write about the weirdness that is my family and my past, especially since my mom just died a couple of weeks ago and I wrote this huge crazy entry about her.

I also have bipolar disorder, though I keep things mostly chill with medication, and I work in a university library. Just an FYI in case it matters: I'm a heavy-set chick, and I tend to post cleavage-heavy photos because, well, renaissance fairs.

Honestly, I haven't gone properly thrifting in about a month. My soul is withering. Haha. I need a good thrifting binge soon. We're actually having a local vintage Pyrex dish swap/get-together in May, so that'll help. There should be around 100 getting together and selling/swapping dishes and vintage stuff which is always fun.

Haha. Vintage Pyrex is the best! At last count I had over 250 pieces, but that was down from over 300...I'm not sure where I'm at now, though I've been trying to cut back a bit. Just a little.

Thanks. It was an impulsive but expensive renaissance fair purchase a few years ago. I try to wear it at least a few times a year to justify the expense. I've debated wearing it more regularly, but I haven't quite worked up to the whole tricorn-in-my-daily-life thing.
