i posted here back in january and thought i'd give it another go now that lots of people are migrating from lj!

NAME: journey

 

AGE: 28

 

A LIL ABOUT ME: i live with my wife and our three cats in the boston area, and i work full time as a legal executive assistant in addition to running my own business making perfume oils! i am a lesbian, feminist, and vegetarian animal-lover (our cats are the only beings i will ever have maternal feelings for). i like things that make me think.

 

INTERESTS & HOBBIES: fandom-wise:  leverage (ot3!), harry potter, merlin, miss fisher's murder mysteries, sailor moon, criminal minds, legend of the seeker, xena, gone girl / amy elliott dunne fanclub president. it's safe to say i have zero interest in het. i just started jane the virgin and already finished season 2 and i LOVE IT. NON-FANDOM: i enjoy: constant validation about how awesome i am. anything related to lesbians. perfumery. binge-watching series on netflix. baby animals. unlikeable female characters!! reading young adult fiction and female-centered thrillers and horror. playing visual novels and twine games and having feelings about twine as a genre. 

WHAT I POST ABOUT: real life, work and social (i run an intergenerational lesbian group that's a lot of fun); stories about our cats; about my business; i occasionally write fanfic or poetry, right now i'm working on a novel (who isn't), and i might post updates/issues; what i'm reading, including articles that might prompt interesting discussion; etc. i do link lists sometimes, and other general recs like if i find a neat indie game.

LOOKING FOR: people who share my interests of course! i prefer reading multiple short or bulleted posts (which is how i tend to post too) vs. long blow-by-blow narrative posts, but that's not a deal-breaker. :)

I have yet to post about it, but I am a huge perfume nerd and would love to hear about your perfume oil business. How did you get started? Do you have a link? (PM if desired) I have a few oils, and the ones which are good are indispensable, but there seems to be a fifty fifty chance when ordering that the scent will never rise above absolute skin level.

you can see my stuff here! and yeah, the one thing about oils that can be either good or bad depending on your perspective is it's much more subtle than alcohol based perfumes. i like wearing mine in my hair, because then it gets some natural movement and i know people can smell it somewhat without putting their nose right up against it, haha.

I'll admit, I lean toward longer posts, but I try to cut them so they don't cause a giant text wall on your reading page. I used to be a huge BPAL fan and I love the way that smells can bring back memories or influence mood. Friends?
