AGE: I watched the Challenger explode live at school when I was in the 5th grade.

INTERESTS & HOBBIES: I'm an artist. A creator. A starry-eyed optimistic. I'm an introvert, a smart ass, and I say fuck a lot. (Don't worry, it offends me too) I live on a farm. I have muddy boots, painted fingernails, my own business, and a large collection of bungee cords. My writing style fluctuates greatly with my moods. I reserve the right to not make any sense at any given time as well as the right to make you think that six totally different people are writing in this journal. I even entertain myself in that aspect. Just go with it.

Speaking of... I recently migrated over here from LJ, where I have been hiding since 2003.

OMG. How was that experience watching the Challenger?

I honestly don't remember much of the details. I do remember being excited that we were going to be able to watch the TV in class (our teacher had talked about it for days). I remember the TV sitting at the front of the room on the rolling cart. It's presence always meant a special occasion because they had to be checked out from the library and the school (it was a very small rural school with no money) and the library only had a few of them. So it was going to be a Big Deal Day. And then the Big Deal Day turned into a different kind of Big Deal Day that was sad instead of exciting, and then the TV was taken away and we had an assembly in the cafeteria where the principal talked about what happened. (Our school was 4th - 6th grade, three classes of each, each class was about 20-25 kids.)

While I know I watched it, I don't actually remember watching it. I really only remember the before & after.

I remember that day. I was in a car with my husband and our daughter (who was a toddler then). An aunt of mine was driving. We had stopped at a garage to get petrol, and she had got out to sort that out. Husband and I had the radio on, and the announcement came on. I was frozen. It was horrible. Aunt got back in the car and could see we were upset and asked what had happened. When I told her, she shrugged, and was not at all bothered. Strange how that stock with me.

Anyway, would you like to add me? I'm an adult, it says so on my bus ticket.
