Hello?
Hi there! I am currently looking for people who are active on Dreamwidth to read and maybe even interact with. It seems that much of my reading list has dwindled to a steadfast few. I suspect that the majority of my once fannish circle have found other waters in which to swim...or Tumblr.
I, however, do not want to go to Tumblr (or back to LJ) and much prefer my home here. So, I am wondering....is there anyone still active out there beyond the diehard few I already read?
A little about me:
My name is Romy. I am older but not old enough to act my age. I do sometimes have the humor of a 13-year-old and frequently indulge in things/activities that I think I am supposed to be too old for.
I am married (same-sex), genderfluid, left-leaning, and spiritual without organizing into one religion. I have three cats - all toms - that get along famously. I am unemployed and getting ready to leave home for graduate school in a few months. In Hawai'i, no less. That is, if everything falls into place financially.
I am very geeky and very fannish. I have too many fandoms to list, and move from one to the other to the next to the new one as whims and shiny things attract me. I am a fandom magpie! Sadly, I am behind on most of the newest awesome things. Cheerfully, I haven't let go of my old fandoms. Many of my fandoms (anime, manga, etc) will reflect the fact that I like Japanese media. But I also dig a good Korean drama or an action-packed Chinese movie.
When I get to grad school, my area of study will be East Asian history. I have an interest in the relations between Japan, China, and the Koreas. Primarily, though, my focus is on WWII-era Japan and the war crimes committed by that country while in China and the Pacific region.
I usually post every day, though weekends I tend to be offline. Much of my journal is about things happening in my life, so as far as content, that's what you'll see the most. I don't require commenting, since I am not the best at it myself, but I would like access to read.
You can find out more about me in my profile or in my sticky post. Most of my journal is access locked, but the sticky post is public. If you think we would get along, drop me a comment before you add.
