Hello all. It's a pleasure to meet all of you. I'm new to dreamwidth; well no, I was a member years ago before I joined the masses on Facebook; and am looking to meet some new friends here. A bit about me...

Age: 32 - I still can't believe it...
Interests: reading, writing, music, movies, computers, video games, pogo games, crochet, crafts, autumn, England, France, Peter Firth, pen pals, history, and more that I can't think of at this moment...
Brief bio: Well, my name is Jenn and I am a 32 year old female living in South-Central Pennsylvania. I work full time for a company in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and spend about 3 hours a day on the road commuting. Family is important to me, and I recently moved home to a) pay off some bills, b) help out with my mum, and c) so many other things. I'm an introvert and find making friends is so much easier on the computer than it is in person. I'm chronically single, open minded about pretty much everything, and love chatting to people online.
What are you looking for: New friends from around the world who share at least one interest. Or, at least has an open mind as well.

Yes, though sadly I'm a bit behind. Must have a DA marathon to catch up again.

It's alright, I pretty much discovered it and then marathoned all of the seasons in two weeks. Most intense two weeks of my life. I laughed, I cried.. I threw jello cups at the TV--

LOL. It's something my mom and I watch together and she's not been able to lately. Has a broken back and visiting the living room with the DVD player isn't on her list of things to do right now. Part of me says watch the rest without her and part of me says drag her bed into the living room.

Do you have a laptop or anything like that? You can always watch it on there. And I understand, there are a few shows that I would watch with a significant other and I would TRY not to watch it without them.

Also I am impressed by your Snape/Doctor Who love so Imma gonna have to add you!

Ohhh - a fellow lover of not only Snape but also Doctor Who - that's always been a difficult combination to find! :)

Yes! I love history and crafts. What type of crafts do you enjoy? And do you have a favorite era of history?

Sewing and weaving are my favorite. I'm trying to find someone to give me a basic embroidery lesson, also. I may resort to youtube and just learn it myself. My favorite period in history is WW2 especially the Soviet bloc during it. Also, Peronist Argentina immediately after WW2. I know a fair bit about medieval Europe, but not as much as I would like.

I'm almost twice your age and I can't believe it either ;) I'm no old fuddy duddy though :)

I see we have some great interests in common...history, genealogy, family, Dr Who, Downton Abbey, England (obviously in my case) and Spooks to name a few.

I'm also very open minded, liberal, hate drama etc. My DW is pretty much about day to day life, my family and genealogy which I'm addicted to :) Care to friend?

I would love to friend. While my DW is still a work in progress, we do share a lot of the same interests and it's nice to meet people that way. And your age doesn't bother me; I've made many friends who are almost twice my age or more and we've hit it off wonderfully.

I like coffee and my journal is pretty quiet but I'm pledging to use it more. Mostly work and day to day stories. I'm trying to cultivate more hobbies, so there'll be more posts about that stuff.

Even in online forums I get something akin to social anxiety. It's absolutely ridiculous. I'll edit comments several times before I post them and write really long winded things and then just say, "nah, they don't really care," and delete the whole thing. ^-^;; Ugh, it's awful.

It's really rare that I go, "screw it all, see what they say!" which is totally what I did and I'm super excited that it worked because yay! new friends!

I think you're right about being an east coast-er for life, if you were born and raised there. I've been in the midwest 9 and a half years now, and I think I still have the east coast mentality. LOL.

(History and crochet are two the best things ever, so I'm always happy to find more friends that love them!)

Seems like we have some interests in common (Downton Abbey, Iron Man, and historical fiction, to name a few). Hi, just finishing reading your intro post and liked what you had to say. I'm looking for some friends to add to my journal also. I am older than yourself, and I do have a profile filled out in full. Just 18 months ago I moved to a new place and haven't really met any new people, I'm a bit shy to be honest, but I do enjoy getting to know people. I love playing games on club pogo, love music of my genres, and do read a bit here and there.
