Hello!
Hello!
Me: Katy
Age: 31
Place: Atlanta, GA
Stuff I do for fun: Archery, reading YA literature (Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Snipesville Chronicles), playing with my dogs, and my cat, post photographs (In the midst of a 365 project), volunteer at an aquarium, converting to Judaism, Watching college football, especially Georgia Southern. Watching pro and minor league hockey (or this season whinging about the lack of pro hockey while watching minor league hockey - Go Gladiators!). I just bought a house and I'm trying to get into gardening. Human rights, women's rights, gay rights, children's rights, uhm... everyone's rights! I was a member of Amnesty International as an undergrad, and am looking to get back involved with them.
Stuff I do for money: Well I work teaching middle schoolers with autism which job breaks my heart and I cannot continue doing it much longer because I cry all the time, and not because it's awful but just... ugh. So anyway, I'm going back to school in January for computer programming. I will keep (or try to keep) the teaching job until May only because it would be unfair to my students to leave on them at this point in the year. But then... I don't know. I will have to find something, but I do not know what I will be able to find. Sighs. Maybe I will substitute teach while going to school? I'd like to find something in the computer industry but given my lack of knowledge that seems improbable.
Cool random fact: I've been headbutted by a whale shark.
My DW: Well I started this 365 day meme in September, so I'm posting like daily now, and answering questions... in general I'll write about real life, and what's happening in my life. Sometimes I use it to sort of think out loud, and get feedback on my thinky thoughts. I read everything, comment occasionally, when I have something to say, and appreciate the same. I do not write anything fannish - I don't really watch TV at all, and only rarely movies. So, I would like it if you write mostly about your real life.

enjoypine after hockey, as well (Hurricanes fan here, although I was really sad to see the move/demise of the Thrashers, I always love a good underdog).I'm interested in advocates of LGBT rights, women's rights--as you said, everyone's rights. I also just like friendly discussion on a number of topics. I'm an atheist, but I don't have a problem with spirituality in any form as long as it inspires people to be good to each other instead of nasty, and reading about other people's spiritual journeys is very interesting to me.
I'm not into a lot of fandoms, although I do write original fantasy/sci-fi/horror fiction.
Uh, I have six cats. X_x Not on purpose, I assure you. But I love them all.
OK if I add you?
