Name: Meep
Age: 30s
I mostly post about: I natter. I'll start with some small thing, an idea or an event from my day, and meander around it for a bit. Sometimes that means going on a deep dive about some queer/crip theory concept that I've been chewing on and sometimes it means thinking way too hard about The Hunger Games or His Dark Materials. I like to let my mind wander "on paper" and I write about my daily life.
My hobbies are: I'm a crafter, mostly crochet, sometimes embroidery, resin casting, quilting, and photography. I read a lot (currently on a nonfiction kick, but also picture books, romance, fantasy (especially portal fantasy), and, recently, thrillers and horror) and I'm trying to get back into writing for fun.
My day job is: I'm a school librarian and I write about that. Right now, I'm finishing up my MFA Writing for Children & Young Adults and applying for a MLIS School Library Focus program.
My fandoms are: His Dark Materials; TSUBASA: RESERvoir CHRoNiCLE; The Silmarillion; The Hunger Games; Saiyuki; Interview with the Vampire; Thor: Ragnarok; Austenland; Maintenance Phase. These are things you might see me write about. I like talking about what I'm reading/watching/listening to, but I don't write fic or engage much in fandom. That said, I love to talk about fandoms with my friends even if we're not in the same fandom.
I'm looking to meet people who: I want to hear about your day! One of the things I always loved about LiveJournal/Dreamwidth was that peek into other peoples' lives and the supportive community that builds up from that kind of intimacy. It's not required but I enjoy when that friendship spills over into other social media and chat spaces.
My posting schedule tends to be: So, I used to post, like, multiple times a day, and then somewhere along the line, that petered out, but I'm getting back into the habit with the goal of posting at least 3x weekly, maybe more.
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: I won't add anyone under 21. I'm sorry but I'm a professional educator and that is a personal boundary I will not cross. I think the usual DNI criteria applies here; I'm not interested in arguing about whether trans women are women (trans women are women) or if drag shows are recruiting children to the gay agenda (please shut up) in the comments of my diary.
Before adding me, you should know: I am a white neurodivergent disabled genderqueer lesbian Jewish convert in progress. I guess, make of that what you will.
