Hello, this is noob

Hi, I'm Mirka and very new to Dreamwidth! I've been here for two days. :-D I have a long history with Livejournal, but I decided it was time to check out this place as well.

So, what about me? Well, I'm 19. I'm a high school student from Finland (obviously it's not really called 'high school' here, stuff often gets lost in translation) and have just recently returned to my studies after having been sick for quite a long time. It was nothing serious, but very stressful anyway. But I'm healthy now and happy days are here again, so it's a good time to make new friends!

My journal only has a couple of entries thus far 'cause I didn't want to bring my older LJ entries with me, but there'll be plenty more in no time. I usually post about my daily life, which means the subjects can vary from school to the games I'm obsessed with to ramblings about new clothes. I post quite a lot of pictures, but I have no talent nor a fancy camera, so I can assure they're nothing great.

Some general stuff I 'm interested in:

• Open-minded people
• Creative/artistic things, English language, psychology, philosophy
• Painting, reading, listening to music
• Bisexuality and such
• Computers, gaming, movies
• The colour blue
• Clothing, make-up, original styles

Favourites:

• Movies: Action's my favourite, with a bit of romance. The Avengers (Lokii hnngh), Thor, Iron Man, other Marvel movies, Love Actually, Bridget Jones, Black Swan, Sleuth, Inception, Shutter Island, Flightplan, LOTR, Mean Girls, Scary Movies, Snakes on a Plane, Mulan, TMNT, etc.
• Tv: Crime series like Numb3rs, NCIS, Lie to Me; also Top Gear, Sex and the City, Grey's Anatomy, etc.
• Games: Right now, Mass Effect - all of them. And Skyrim. The Sims and Pokémon, too. I'm very interested in other sci-fi and fantasy based games but don't know which ones I should try out.
• Books: The Hunger Games, anything by Richard Hammond.
• Music: Tori Amos, Skrillex, Nicki Minaj, Kent, The Lonely Island, Shakira, Electric Six, Sting, Nickelback, E Nomine, LMFAO, Toto... I don't have a "favourite band" or even a few. I like so many different artists and usually only a handful of songs by each.

I hope to friend anyone who is not homophobic, racist and who doesn't completely suck at grammar. I'm not a native speaker and it doesn't matter to me if you are or aren't, but I'd prefer to friend people who try to watch their grammar. :)

I suddenly caught a travel bug and created an account here, at DW. And now I'm in search of friends. :)

Usually I'm quite a taciturn person but I work on improving of my social skills. I try to post regularly but not always have energy for that, though you can always can count on finding a fresh horse photos in my journal. They are not mine, photos I mean, but I always mention its source, usually by making photos clickable links to the source.

I'm 28 years old biologist from Russia. Usually I don't discuss my work in my journals, simply don't like it. (Well, to be honest, internet is my way to rest and I prefer not to get things that stress me in places where I rest. Escapism, I know.)

I like horses (have little riding experience), cats (had got three, now cat-less), nature, roleplays (admin one board RP), fanfiction (I don't write it currently; work on translation, though), drawing (I'm in never-ending process of learning how to draw), reading (especially various encyclopaedia), music (mostly disco, rock and folk), movies (Star Wars, Transformers), serials (Babylon 5), anime (many -_-).

As for fandoms, I usually don't participate them actively. My most active fandoms are Final Fantasy VII (didn't play, only watched cutscenes, read wikis and fics), AnK, Dark Kingdom (first season of Sailormoon).

I'm actually kind of stuck right now, I've never been good in describing myself and things I like; but I hope I'll manage to fine people who share my interests and don't really mind cranky English. XP

LOOKING FOR: Regular blogs and more specifically maybe someone(s) who enjoy talking about books or something to that point. No fanfic type thing, I mean like reading about them or whatever. I have vaguely discussed books in here right now but I would like to start trying to write more if I had maybe more of those who enjoy that type of thing or something. And, people who do not mind handing out book recommendations once in awhile.
ANYTHING ELSE?: I am slightly active on both Livejournal and Dreamwidth. I write different things on both so it's not like you have to worry about me flooding this side with random crap about LiveJournal or Facebook. Other than that sentence.
