INTERESTS: Writing, video games, reading, photo editing, icons, politics, economics, and dogs!
I'm a fanfic author under the name patriot_jackie for multiple fandoms. Right now though, I'm more focused on writing my original stuff and making icons. I play video games A LOT. Mostly Halo and MW3, but I recently discovered Skyrim and have thus far logged 96 hours. Arkham City is also a new addiction. YES I have a full time job, with a well-known finance company to boot... I just tend not to sleep much. ;) I don't watch TV because waiting through sucky commercials to see things that aren't in HD seems an excessive waste of time; I watch Netflix which plays in HD - AT&T willing, that is. I'm a big fan of South Park, American Dad, and Family Guy, though as a Christian girl who never curses, I often cringe through the language and don't watch a handful of SP episodes. ;)
As for what I'm looking for, I'm just looking for some new buddies to read about and have fun and a lot of laughs with! I joined DW after being at LJ 6 or so years and have plenty of friends over there, but alas, many of them haven't discovered the joys of DW yet. My journal entries typically revolve around whatever's happening in my life, fandom stuff, and current events. Nothing too interesting, but we all have our moments.
ANYTHING ELSE?: My dog is adorable, and I probably love her too much. But how can you not love this miniature schnauzer face?
Her name is Minni. She just turned 8!
If you post a pic of your dog, I'll probably love them, too. :D
It wouldn't be fair not to mention that I do get sidetracked by politics from time to time, and this year is an election year, so it's bound to happen at some point. I am a conservative bordering on being a libertarian, but I'm not a supporter of either party. Oftentimes, you'll see neutral posts from me in which I thoroughly research a particular bill or issue and attempt my absolute best to post all sides, but I definitely have opinions, too. I'm a great respecter of opinions and free expression, and most of my friends have opposing political views, which I love. It's entirely up to you if we discuss politics at all or if we have off-limits topics; I have a few of my own I refuse to discuss. I do enjoy a good debate, but not if the debate is only about being right; no one learns from those. So if you can handle the occasional political post and an otherwise average journal about an average person, I'd love to be your buddy!
