exoskeletonHeya. My name's Stick, I'm 21, and I'm trying to take up blogging regularly again. I used to hang out on LJ, but I got fed up with it long before its most recent blunders. I'm an art major, and my life is wedged somewhere between community college and university. My big goals right now are to pay off my college loans and to move out of my parents' house. I'm also trying to put together not one, but two webcomics--one derpy, one epic. I'm kind of silly and introverted and think way too much about everything. I mostly like to post about [1] daily life, [2] my art projects, [3] dreams that I've had, [4] memoir-like recollections of my childhood, [5] my thoughts on movies, books, shows, video games, and other things that I've discovered. I'm generally very optimistic and lighthearted, if not incredibly analytical and kind of tl;dr on occasion.
INTERESTS: ART ART ART (especially sequential art), anything related to Alice in Wonderland, the 90s, the goddamn Batman, history, learnin' stuff, creepy stuff, fairy tales, urban decay, and being challenged to do cool stuff.
Movies: 1408, 9, The Dark Knight, Beauty & the Beast, Cowboys & Aliens, Inception, Lord of the Rings, Pan's Labyrinth, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Zombieland, anything Tim Burton gets his hands on, etc. I just really love movies in general.
Television: I don't watch much TV anymore, but I lived for Avatar: the Last Airbender when it was on. I'm getting into Sherlock right now, and sometimes catch episodes of the Daily Show because Jon Stewart is basically my hero.
Video Games: Batman: Arkham Asylum, the Drawn series, Katamari Damacy, Kingdom Hearts, Rule of Rose, Silent Hill 2 (and 3 and sort of 4), Persona 3, Alan Wake, and I have a twisted love-hate relationship with the Final Fantasy series.
Animanga: Black Blood Brothers, Clover, DOGS: Bullets & Carnage, Dragon Knights, Gurren Lagann, Magic Knight Rayearth, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Outlaw Star, Samurai Champloo, etc. I'm currently working my way through Are You Alice?.
Books/Comics: Fables, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Harry Potter, Kagerou, the Great Gatsby, Grimm's Fairy Tales... I'm trying to read more books, because this is a sad list.
HOBBIES: Collecting sea glass, art art art, movie binges with friends, creative writing, procrastinating, learning to play the guitar, roleplaying (journal-based and table-top!), and surfing tumblr for far longer than necessary.
LOOKING FOR: I'm looking for friends. C: Maybe people who like to write about the same sort of things I do, or people who dig mutual support and challenging each other...? Nice people and creative people are a plus, but I dig getting to know anyone. The only people I can't deal with are drama llamas and people who post entry after entry about shaky/unhappy/scarily co-dependent relationships. But that's just because I'm aromantic and put cold logic into everything. :<
ANYTHING ELSE?: I don't actually have any DW entries yet. So this is kind of like applying for a job when you have no job experience, except I hope that it will be marginally more successful.
