Calling all Introverts!
Mar. 30th, 2011 06:58 pmHey DWers - I'm looking for some fellow introverts to add to my friends list. I know there must be some of you out there, we tend to flock to the online journals ;)
A little about me - I'm in my early 30's and have a pretty simple life. Married but no kids (not planning on having any either). Have a kitty that I talk about sometimes. I work in a laboratory. Reading and drinking tea are my favorite past-times. I enjoy lots of different kinds of music although the Beatles are my absolute favorite. I don't watch much TV in "real time", I pretty much watch everything either on DVD or streaming through Netflix. Recent favorites are House, Lost, Dr.Who and I'm going through seasons one and two of Parks and Recreation at the moment. I enjoy a lot of "Nerdy" things such as Star Trek, Stargate, Monty Python, Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Nerdist Podcast, Weird Al etc & so forth. I find astronomy and biology fascinating. I'm not very fond of dressing up and pretty much wear jeans, converse and t-shirts/hoodies every day. I'm not religious - I don't really fit into any specific category in this regard..I guess I'm sort of an atheist-buddhist-taoist-carl saganist ;)
As I mentioned I'm an introvert - like 80% introverted, loner by choice. I have one friend outside of my husband that I hang out with. Between the people I interact with at work, my husband, and seeing my family, that's pretty much all the socializing I want. It's a hard thing for a lot of people to understand, us solitary types. I find my interactions with people here on the web are very fulfilling for me and the most enjoyable considering my preferences... and I consider my friends-list to be real friends. So I will do my best to interact with you and will be likely to cut you after a few months if we're not really clicking. I come for friendships, not just for more pages to read.
I almost never talk about fandom related things in my journal like TV shows. It's usually things that are going on in my life or stuff that is floating around in my brain. I sometimes post only once a week, sometimes more frequently, it varies. I occasionally post videos or links to articles I think are particularly neat.
I feel like that says a lot about me and also nothing at the same time, ah well.
