Looking for some new pals...

Hello

My name is Nicky and I am still fairly new to dreamwidth. I had made an account a while ago but never used it, so I deleted it. However last month I decided to start again and make an effort to do something with this journal.

A bit about me:
-34 years old
-live in Minnesota
-work in a law firm by day
-grad student in limbo which means waiting for a law enforcment agency to hire my husband who has been looking for a job since last July when he graduated with his 4 year degree. Once he gets hired I can leave my job to student teach. I have all my class work completed for my Masters Degree just need to do the student teaching to get my license in Social Studies for grades 5-12.
-Married to a lovely guy
-Have two cats, Goldfinger and Guinness

What I write about:
-pretty much everything that happens in my life
-school and all that revolve around it which right now is not a whole lot being I am in limbo
-I write about work, my coworkers and the love/hate relationship with the field I really enjoy but trying to get out of..
-I write about planning and attending science fiction fantasy conventions and dealing with the people involved.
-I write about day-to-day things like movies I have watched, games I have played, and friends I have spent time with, etc.

Overall I would say this journal is filled with recaps of day to day activities , sometimes the not so routine things, emotions (I fully believe venting is good and journals like this place are a god send for that...) feelings, memes sprinkled in here and there, pictures of things as I really enjoy photography and have been trying to improve. To sum it up, this is a journal about life, liberty the pursuit of insanity for an overemotional rambling female trying find her place in this crazy world we live in.

The pictures I post are public but everything else is locked up

Activities and Interests:
-watching movies and my interests in movies range from Gone with the Wind to Star Wars
-Watching TV and the shows I rather enjoy are: NCIS, CSI, Supernatural, Bones, Dr.Who, Burn Notice, Castle, House, and Days of Our Lives
-I love to attend science fiction conventions and attend two here in Minnesota I attend every year
-belly dancing, I have been taking classes for close to 4 years now
-photography, as noted above I am working on getting better
-gaming, I enjoy video games, Magic The Gathering and a bit of some rpg's

Right now my dreamwidth is a bit thin on major content but I do hope that changes soon. Work has been a bit crazy and a few life thing have gotten in the way the past few weeks.

I hope to get to know some people. I enjoy meeting new folks!

Hello, I'm 33, I have one spouse and two children and a share in a very fluffy cat. I drink copious amounts of tea and read large amounts of fiction usually at the same time. I am not quite an LJ refugee, I still read my f'list there and participate in communities over there, but being increasingly drawn to Dreamwidth I've decided to make this my base. Alas! None of my fellow LJers have moved over here, so I thought I'd have a go at making new friends for my new journal.

It's been a while since I posted with any regularity, but in a effort to get back into the habit I've been doing the a thirty posts in thirty days meme (or TTD (Textually Transmitted Disease) as I call them).

When in good journalling habits I talk about life, the universe and everything with as much humour as I can muster.

Based on my LJ f'list I enjoy a reading list filled with witty, thoughtful, liberal minded people who are into current affairs, science the humanities and writing (for some reason many of them are also knitters -- each to their own!), who talk about their lives, hobbies and ideas.

My 'adding' policy has always been very open and easy come easy go, so if you think we might get on go ahead and add me.

Hi Folks

I suppose a little about me is a good place to start. I'm a 22 (going on 40) year old male I'm fresh graduate just about to go into my first full time job working for a large multinational IT company so for me it is an all new beginning, new experiences, excitement and along side that the stress and uncertainty of being in a completely new area of the country. But really, this is the sort of situation in which I love to be. So new beginnings and new ideas... I have never kept a journal or blog before and having been introduced to the idea of it a short while ago now seems like a good time to get started and give it go.

I'm not sure I can give a clear idea of what I hope to gain from dw but new friends is always a good place to start really. I hope to meet new people and allow my participation in dw to evolve naturally rather than starting with a clear and fixed idea of what to do. Generally I would think that I will be chatting about my day-to-day experiences, getting set up and going in London and the start of my new job. I love motorbikes so I dare say there will be quite a chunk of waffle in my journal about them too.

As for my journal it is friends only, currently consists of only a single post, however I intend to make reasonable effort to post quite regularly. I'm interested in getting to know a whole range of people from different backgrounds, experiences and interests etc... our differences make us more intriguing. I like to think I am honest, open and forthright with my thoughts and generally understanding and sympathetic towards others. My humour can sometimes be dark and close to the 'edge' and I prefer people that do not take themselves too seriously all the time!
