onomatomaniaHi, I'm ar, and this is one of my side journals. One of my long-running interests is given names--for people, for pets, for boats, whatever--and onomatomania is where I post about them. You can check through recent entries to get an idea of what kind of things to expect, but in general, it's a lot of "oooh, ____ is a cool name, oooh," and occasionally some meandering thoughts about larger issues in naming. And one of the fun things about names is talking about them, but there's not much of a community for that here on DW.
Yeah, so, to be brief--do you like names? Are you the sort of person whose response to more unusual names isn't to cross yourself or otherwise glance askance? I'm not looking for an echo chamber or anything, just other people with a lively interest in names, whose sense of adventure doesn't necessarily end at Hope Elisabeth or Aiden James. ^_- I figure we'll all have much more fun if we're not coming from completely incompatible naming philosophies.
(Nota bene that I don't actually read the flist on this journal, so if you want me to see your entries as well--which isn't requisite, of course, but I'm certainly not opposed--you'll have to grant access toar. I hope that's no problem.)
