I'm Emily. I'm alsomeretia on LJ and Flickr, Ravelry, and the NaNo forums. I just turned 30. I'm currently a substitute reference associate (which is a reference librarian with just a bachelor's degree instead of a library science master's), planning to start an MLS in archives next fall. Right now I live in southwestern Ohio with my cat and my parents and their dog (because I love my job, but I sure can't move out on sub's hours).
I write original fiction. And yep, I'm doing NaNo this year. If you couldn't guess, I'm also a knitter and a photographer. I'm not really so much into fandom, though Great Big Sea and Life on Mars (both the British and the American one) currently make me squeal like a twelve year old girl at a boy band concert. As do historical re-enactments like the Fair at New Boston over in Springfield. I was a history major in college, women's history and US cultural history about 1900-1950, and the late 18th century is my real close second favorite. So I tend to get really excited about strange things (hey you guys, I found an Arm and Hammer recipe booklet from 1914 at the flea market and it's awesome!).
I originally intended to use Dreamwidth as my writing journal, but I've found myself using Dreamwidth more than LJ. My theory is that I would be better at actually reading my reading list if I had more friends over here. I'm not too picky about who I add as friends, I'm fine with just about anyone I have something in common with who uses their journal over here.
