red_reaperHi my name is, well, just call me Cristine. I'm pretty new to dreamwidth, but I've had a livejournal for about a year and a half. I love writing and really want to be an author. This is probably good, otherwise the characters running around in my head would drive me crazy. I also love reading, my favorite genre being paranormal romance. Some of my favorites are The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost, Tamora Pierce's Tortallan books, Wishes by Jude Devereux, the Queen of Babble series by Meg Cabot (in fact, a lot of Meg Cabot's books occupy my shelves), Save the Date by Tamara Summers, The Bermudez Triangle by Maureen Johnson, and a bunch more. Most of my entries will be samples of my writing or book reviews. Constructive criticism is welcome on the writing, but nothing that is not helpful. Here's some more things about me:
Favorite TV shows: Castle, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, NCIS, Bones, Amazing Race, The Mentalist, Wipeout, Here Come the Newlyweds, Firefly, Friends, Blood Ties, True Blood
Favorite Music: Kelly Clarkson, Aly and AJ, Queen, Garth Brooks, Paramore, Clay Aiken, Nickelback, The Mitch Hansen Band, Blue October, Dixie Chicks, Kate Voegele (There are a lot more as well. I'm willing to give anything a try, except scream-o, which I've never been fond of, and rap with offensive lyric, i.e. swear words, songs about sex)
Pets: Two very, very spoiled beagle mixes named Gidget (Gidge for short) and Sydney (Syd for short). Syd is a fox terrier beagle mix a little over a year old. She loves to destroy things when you aren't looking. Gidge is a shepard beagle mix who is between two and five. We adopted her from a beagle rescue service. They have a variety of other nicknames: Scrappy and Gator, Stinky and Nunzio, VelociBeagles, Crapweasels, but we love them anyway.
Family: One sister who can be a huge pain, but I'm sure will outgrow it (we can only hope). She'll turn 17 in August. She's also counting the days until I leave for college. Mom and Dad have been married for 19 years and I'm pretty close to them.
I'm looking to make some new friends here so I'll most likely friend you, unless I think you're, as my sister puts it, a creeper.
