INTERESTS: First and foremost, I'm a giant a nerd! I like video games, anime, and reading (particularly fantasy novels). I have a bit of a "girly" side as well. I like cute things, pastel colors, and making my journal entries aesthetically pleasing. I'm also a liberal and believe strongly in human rights, animal rights, and all those other rights. I like TV too! I'm not always super up to date with my shows, but my favorites are Game of Thrones, Community, 30 Rock, Adventure Time, My Little Pony, and I love both the Daily Show and Colbert Report.
HOBBIES: I collect Monster High dolls. I follow politics regularly. I play lots of video games. I enjoy taking pictures of my cats and sharing them with the world. Sometimes I daydream about being a character in the Song of Ice and Fire books, but then I realize that I would probably be killed off in some gruesome manner.
LOOKING FOR: Nerdy friends! People who like video games and like talking about them with others. People who pay attention to politics and are socially liberal. People who like any of the same shows I do. Anyone interested in being friends too!

Thank you! I am addicted to taking screenshots in any PC game I play these days and I love making screenshot posts. :) Right now I'm addicted to Kingdoms of Amalur and probably will be posting some screenies from that game in the near future.

Hahaha, Greek uses excessive articles too, which is what I immediately thought when reading "I'm a giant a nerd"! (Although "the" tends to be the culprit. I MEAN definite articles as opposed to indefinite, yes?)

Let's become friends, Nicki x) Pastel colours are very soothing. I'm more of a classicist - both linguistically (studying Latin forever; Greek 2 years) and musically (oboist and bassoonist but more oboe than babboonery).

I have begun to follow Politics despite an upbringing of "Politics = many small blood-sucking cretins", but more internationally (e.g. what's Putin doing now) than locally (um... w00t the Flyers? /don't even know any of this "sport" thing).
Tomorrow my first New York Times newspaper is due to arrive! I had just subscribed to the Sunday paper on Thursday. APPARENTLY it should include how to access the NYT's Internet resources but I don't know...

As far as video games go: hurrah Pokémon and Zelda!

I'm hoping I don't come across as geeky and ramblesome myself. My current goal is to write fifty thousand words in February on a daily pages equivalent on the Internet.

I don't write too much about politics in my journal honestly, but it's still important to me to just know what's going on in the world and such. :) I mostly just babble about my life, it's really exciting clearly!

I don't know, I think I might talk about taking a political course (International Relations, which I had considered most important of any of the political sciences), but overall I don't think I'm loud about supporting anything past ensuring the USA is a secular nation, to make sure everyone gets to practice their favorite faith.
I TOTALLY AGREE that it is most important to have an idea of what is going on IRL right now, though.
My parents told me even though I had subscribed to the New York Times on Thursday, because it was via "snail mail" I probably won't get it until the Sunday after tomorrow. ~~Honestly I hope my credit card doesn't get declined! I know I have spent more than what is in my checking account, but I think I have plenty in savings...~~

In IR, we've mostly discussed history (like when the Soviet Union split into Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine, and the twelve others [all the -stans are hard to remember: Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan]), which is easiest to test on, but probably irrelevant currently. Like, who cares when the League of Nations was formed when it isn't even what it's called these days or what Woodrow Wilson and Harry Truman did?

I have some ponies, yup! I don't collect them seriously or anything, but they're cute, so. :) I used to have a lot of the old school ones when I was a kid actually, but my mom ended up giving them away to my little cousin who then proceeded to draw on them with markers... sad.

Well I used to watch a lot of anime and do occasionally still. I'm a big fan of Game of Thrones and have all the books sitting on my shelf ready to be read. I've also watched the first season. I'm very into politics since that was one of my majors in college. I majored in Economics and Political Science. For Political Science my sub-majors were international politics and comparative politics. I'm a moderate Republican/Blue Dog Democrat. I was Republican for most of my life until 4 years ago and switched to the Independent Party of NYC. I believe in human rights and equal rights for all. I was rather girly when I was your age. Your Tumblr is adorable.

I may write about anime from time to time. Usually I'll post the J-pop songs from an anime series that I like with English translations.

I really love Game of Thrones. I was disappointed that Season 1 was so short. But I went ahead and bought all the books. Sadly I have 3 series to read before I get to the Game of Thrones books. But I will read them as soon as I can. I hope the books are as good as the show.

And thanks for taking a chance on me. Like you said, we won't know unless we try =)

I'd love to have another gamer on my FL! Right now I'm playing Skyrim and The Old Republic, both of which are awesome and way too time consuming.
