NAME: Well, you can call me Mummimamma, that's my online altera ego which I've been going as since the early 2000s. And yes, Moomin Mama is one of my heroes. (Elizabeth I of England is another)

AGE: 36 according to my birth certificate. About 27 in my head.

So, I am trying to get my journaling into gear again after a year of total and utter lack of interest in most things. I miss it. A lot of my old LJ friends have left the journaling world, although that said, I still keep in touch with some of them by other means, but I miss the writing and commenting. Nothing like the instant gratification of Facebook, but I like to write something slightly longer than 2 lines every once in a while.

I work as a lecturer of Norwegian as a second language at university level (and sincerely hope I don't find any students here, go add me on fb instead), and seems to write a lot about that. Also about languages, books and my utter aptitude at being a good researcher.

I am also a lurker in various fandoms; mainly BBC Sherlock currently (I still haven't given up the hope of finding someone to travel to the UK with and spend New Years Day in a dingy hotel room with, watching the new season:)

Else? I sing in a choir, drink huge amounts of tea, like pub quizzes and sending postcards.

Cheaper than traveling to the UK (though if I had the fundage, I would totally take you up on this idea since it's one I have been holding myself) is paying for service from Tunnelbear, and then you can watch it ONLINE :D That's probably what we'll do in my house. Huge Sherlock fans.

Yes, I think I had an ingenious plan for catching Sherlock, (I don't snore! Promise!) Athough perhaps Tunnelbear is easier since i have to be at work the 2nd., I'll give it a look, thanks for the tip!

We have a thing or three in common! I love tea, language and Moomin books, and Moominmama is my hero, too. I like to sing and to read.

I loved it when she painted a garden on the wall of the light house, and then painted lots of little mamas on the wall so she could hide from her family. I think all mamas need a place to hide sometimes.

Personally I identify with Moomin more, but hey, she's clearly his hero, too.

Definitely, everyone, even mamas need their own space (once upon a time I contemplated a comparison between Virgina Woolf's "To the Lighthouse" and "Moominpapa at Sea", and VW definitely knew taht everybody needed their own room)(sorry, brain has been running on empty all Christmas, I'll take it out to the office tomorrow of play a bit).

For some reason a lot of people think I'd like Little My best. Sarcasm might be one of the reasons...
