Hello!
Hello! Since there seems to be new people coming to Dreamwidth, I thought I'd post here again! C: I go by Kura on the net! I'm 23 years old, Chinese American, absolutely hilarious, and I'd like to think pretty friendly!
I'm here on Dreamwidth for good and I'm hoping to find people who are also here to stay. If you're just here to test the waters, I'll be really sad if you abandon ship and your journal ends up inactive. I'm also looking for more real-life oriented people; fandom posts are more than okay of course, but I would much rather read about your day and how things are going in life. BASICALLY I just mean to say that I don't want current fandoms to be the only thing holding a friendship together. My own journal is very real life-oriented and I talk about school (soon to be how it feels to be unemployed, I am not entirely looking forward to that), family, friends, and the cutest cat in the universe (except your cat, of course.) In any case, if you're not at all interested in that sort of thing, I am probably not the one for you!
As far as posting and commenting goes... I live a somewhat crazy life and I post pretty sporadically. I post fairly often, but sometimes it's daily and other times it's...not. I love receiving comments, but due to said crazy schedule, I don't always have time to leave them in return and replying to comments may be slow. As such, I completely do not expect or require a person to leave comments in order to be friends though hearing from you occasionally is nice!
For interests...I like old pre-2005 anime since I don't usually have time to get into new series, I like a large variety of video games though I don't have the time to play all of them (I keep an occasionally updated gameblog at
yorda), and I love cars. I'm easily amused, I find most jokes funny, and I just try to enjoy life even when life is trying very hard to make me feel otherwise.
I'm also an art university student studying visual development for entertainment and trying to graduate (very soon!). I have grand plans to be employed by some animation or video game studio in the future and my endeavors to do so are often a topic of my entries. I have an artblog at
kaiba where I occasionally post artwork when I'm not...busy working on school work, though sometimes I post work in progress pieces to my main journal (that's the one I'm using right now).
ANYWAY, if you're here on Dreamwidth to stay, not only about fandom, friendly, and uh, yeah, friendly, I'd love to be friends! Leave me a comment here and we can get introductions out of the way and maybe even start a beautiful friendship!

I'm not involved in any celebrity/book/tv fandoms, but I sometimes talk about the video games I play which City of Heroes might be considered a fandom.
I mostly post life stuff.
Anyway we can try each other out if you like. I'm definitely been here to stay for a while. Love my current friends too much to quit.

Some of this journal is public, so you can decide if you want to add and then we'll take it from there, yeah?

Our icons tell who is posting/commenting.
Still wanna give it a go?

Your major definitely sounds interesting! I used to be hugely into drawing but I had to force myself to realise that I, personally, wouldn't be able to make a career out of it. xD But I love seeing that some people are determined to make an art major work, and I'd be interested in seeing your progress towards graduation and beyond. :)
--Also your kitten is adorable!

1! I do occasionally post about fandom and I am totally okay with other people posting about fandom and their fanwork and the like. It's just when that's all the journal is about..well, unless I'm also into that fandom it gets a little difficult to follow and all that. BASICALLY, occasionally or sometimes or even more often than that is totally okay, but I'd hope there's something else we can connect over as well! Er, just so I didn't come off as "YOU ARE NEVER ALLOWED TO POST ABOUT FANDOM EVERRRRRRR" because that's completely not what I mean. But yes, life! Life is good.
2! I noticed you mentioned being turned off by drama in your profile. I'm a little unsure as to whether this means you prefer to not read about drama at all or you prefer not to get involved with online drama or whatnot. Because uh, as of recently my life has been especially dramatic and I do in fact vent quite a bit about it on my journal so er.
I must agree with you on my kitten's adorableness!Thank you!Anyway, HAHA if you're still okay with me uh, I've gone ahead and granted you access to my journal and subscribed to yours. If you have second thoughts, feel free to let me know and no hard feelings whatsoever! :D

1. Oh no, you didn't sound like you meant you wouldn't friend someone who ever posted about fandom, don't worry! Thank you for clarifying though. :)
2. Ahhh, yeah, I meant just sort of one-on-one, interpersonal drama. I've got nothing against people venting about drama in their lives, and I honestly vent about MINE quite a lot. I mean that more in the sense that I like to avoid arguing with people/don't like starting stuff. (At the time I'd written up that profile, originally for LJ, I had just had a bit of an issue with a particular community and getting harassed/seeing others harassed. I hadn't realised at the time that it was a community more driven by snark than anything...)
Granting you access/subscribing in return! :D
