Hi there!

I'm Haruka, and I've been on DW for a couple of years. I love it here, and would like to meet more people who feel the same. :)

I'm one of those grown-ups who never grew up (where's the fun in that?) but that doesn't mean I'm a party animal. Truthfully, I'm a homebody, with my wife [personal profile] michiru, our pet gerbils, and our computers to keep in contact with the outside world (and to play games on, can't forget the games.)

There are recent fandoms that I love and older ones that I still hold fondness for, but fear not; my journal isn't filled to the brim with fandom posts. Mostly I write about my daily life (can you stand the excitement? XD) with occasional fannish mentions. I hate to admit it, but I have bad wrists, and my job includes being on a computer all day, so when I make a journal post, it's usually not too long or rambling (unlike this one.) Lately, I've made a lot of photo posts featuring birds that come to our feeders (you'll have to indulge me in that; we just moved and I've waited 18 years to get birds back in my life so I'm really excited about this. :D)

Current fandoms include sentai/toku series (Gokaiger being the most current), Prince of Tennis, Garo, Monster High, and Jpop like HSJ, NYC AAA. Please check my interests to see a MUCH longer list of fandoms I still hold dear, even if I'm not writing for them as much anymore. Oh yes, writing; you can find mine here, and that more than anything can give you an idea of my fandoms.

Besides writing and birdwatching, I enjoy RPing with my wife, playing games on Facebook (that's pretty much ALL I like about Facebook) and on my iTouch. I'd love to give up these games, as I think they're taking too much time from my writing, but so far, they've proven strong while I am weak. :(

I'll watch any movies or documentaries about sharks (Shark Week!) and dinosaurs (Jurassic Park!) I confess an addiction to reality shows like Survivor, Dragon's Den, Top Model, SYTYCD, and more. I have every Spongebob episode on DVD and know most of them by heart (he never fails to cheer me up!) When my music isn't Japanese, it's usually from the 1970s/1980s, and so are my non-reality tv preferences (Little House, Brady Bunch, etc.) Disney movies of all kinds are much loved.

I don't smoke or drink and really am not interested in reading about someone getting wasted. Too much netspeak or seriously lazy spelling/grammar makes my head hurt. I try to comment on posts when I can, and would like friends who make an effort to do the same at least once in a while. It feels odd to have people in my Circle who never say a word to me for months at a time. :( I'm childfree, so you probably won't want to be friends if the majority of your posts are about your kids (but pets are totally different; those I love hearing about!)

Although most posts start out public, I usually put them under lock when the next new post goes up (right now, I've left a few open so you can check me out.) And, if you feel so inclined, [personal profile] michiru is also looking for new friends. :D

Do you think your special lady would be okay with it if I added her, too? I've been looking for more journals to read.

I've been on a Moonie kick lately. Since I haven't seen it in many years, it's almost like watching it for the first time again :P
