Hello all,

I am yet another new arrival to DW, having finally migrated over from LJ (and after finally being unable to bear any more of IJ's mascot). I will admit I've only got a whopping (wait for it) four entries at my journal so far, and one of those is a blanket "hello world!" intro post. (Recommended reading, that, as my ability to articulate about myself fluctuates rapidly and tonight is just not a good night for it.)

To summarise it as best I am able, I am eccentric, mildly introverted, curious and quite nerdy. I have the attention span of someone half my age, and the mind and occasional personality of someone twice my age. I am nameless, genderless, and relatively lost.

So, if anyone's seen me, please comment here and let me know.

I will do my best not to whine too much in my entries, but this is a journaling site, so I can make no firm promises. I will talk a lot about my job, though with relatively loose terms. I will talk about my interests, generally at length, so it may help if you are either interested in the same or similar (a fair list is in my profile) or simply a person as equally curious as myself.

Also, for the record, I am doing NaNoWriMo. Rather, it is doing me. ("I am a bearer! I am a dwelling! I am a messenger!")

Or, perhaps, I am just an idiot. :)

Getting 'round to replying to these a bit late, but I wanted to let you know that you have been added back! :3

we have NOTHING in common.

okay, that was a little melodramatic. we have video games and writing in common. except you clarify video games a little bit in your intro post so we only sort of have video games in common. (i am super loyal to professor layton, animal crossing, and sims. i play other things too, but primarily those three.) we probably write differently too.

so we have HARDLY ANYTHING in common. (considerably less appalling than previously said 'nothing'...)

BUT!

your post was very interesting for me to read - that is to say, amusing in all the right parts and not boring. so i am going to subscribe. if A) you will not be posting publicly AND B) will not be granting access, please let me know that subscribing is futile. :)

i will grant access so you can decide whether or not to make this mutual!

Melodrama is okay! (And, really, occasionally much-needed, I say.)

Regarding differences: that is precisely why I posted here; in all the other time I've been (not) journaling online, I've only ever sought out people with similar (or, you know, exactly the same) interests. I knew that posting here would change that, and hopefully for the better!

Regarding gaming: I am pretty much into most video games, but I do have my preferences. I loved the first Professor Layton game and have been looking into getting the others. I also played a lot of AC back when the GameCube was new, and have been really curious about Wild World and City Folk since then (but haven't actually gotten 'round to getting either - or a Wii, for that matter XD).

Finally, regarding writing: that's what makes and keeps writing interesting - that everyone does it differently! :3

So, in summary, just wanted to (finally) let you know that you have been granted access (and subscribed to!) in return~! :3

don't bother with city folk unless you prefer console gaming to handheld. it's not that much greater than ACWW and has the grass problem. (it wears away like there's no tomorrow and then you have an ugly brown town.) ACWW is *awesome*. i love it. highly recommend it. (obviously.) but if you're not a fan of handhelds, you may not enjoy it as much. i LOVE curling up on the couch with either a good book or a handheld video game. ;)

Hi, can I add you? I tend to think introverts and nerds should stick together, in pleasantly asocial silence. I have a new co-worker who talks ALL THE ******* TIME! I could do with a bit of communication failure.

I'm not doing NaNo. Just boggling at people who are, including at least one RL mate.

Oh, and that mascot FREAKS. ME. OUT. too. Still haven't quite managed to quit LJ yet, though, dammit.

I think I just always end up attempting NaNo to sort of feign being sociable, lol.

I'd be really interested in adding you, if that's alright! Not knowing your age would hardly bother me, so long as you're not too old (in mind/spirit) to be interested in subscribing to me in return. ;)

I go through periods of rapidly updating, and just being too anxious about posting my thoughts/too lazy to actually journal very often, so I can understand if you're new to journaling yourself. xD (And whining about things online can be healthy sometimes! I do it myself though I really do try to tone it down most of the time, or at least intersperse the whining with posts that pretend to be substantial.)

My profile's a little lacking, though I posted to this comm a little while ago here, however I'm convinced I'm terrible at creating lists that somehow capture anything about whatever essence I might have.

(And funnily enough, I also have a girlfriend and three cats! xD)

I can definitely empathise with the anxiety/laziness aspect of posting, too. XD

Also, I admittedly very nearly commented on your post before I even made one of my own, but then got anxious because I wasn't sure if a Star Trek fan and a Star Wars fan could peacefully co-exist. XD (Not that I've anything against it - I've liked what I've seen of it! Do I sound like I'm backpedalling? I swear I'm not backpedalling!)

Definitely okay! I am curious about your Death Note fic, and will probably dabble in the rest of it, though our fandoms don't seem to overlap too much. Either way, a fan of The Last Unicorn is always a-okay in my book. :3
